Abstract

Deep learning refers to an educational approach that prioritizes conceptual comprehension and the development of higher order thinking skills, as opposed to surface learning which emphasizes memorization of facts. In this context, mental acts as described by Harel serve as crucial internal cognitive processes, including comparing, relating, generalizing, and abstracting, which support the meaningful construction of knowledge. This study applies a systematic review of literature, drawing on sources from international journals, nationally accredited journals, academic books, and conference proceedings. The data were examined through thematic analysis to identify the forms of mental acts, the instructional strategies that facilitate their emergence, and their influence on deep learning. The review reveals that while mental acts play an important role in fostering critical, creative, and metacognitive thinking, much of the existing research still concentrates on instructional strategies, with limited attention to affective and metacognitive dimensions. This article contributes a conceptual synthesis that situates mental acts as the central element of deep learning and proposes an integrated framework to strengthen educational practices for the twenty first century.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasingly advanced technological era where there is more and more use of technology in terms of archiving, this has an impact on the lack of use of physical archives, based on this the researcher aims to describe the influence of archives management on service quality at elementary school especially on entikong village. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of research used in this research is causal associative research. The sampling technique is a saturated sample, namely a sample size of 30 respondents. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and test the validity of the data using validity tests and reliability tests. The analysis prerequisite tests use the normality test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test. Hypothesis testing uses a simple regression test, namely the t test and multiple linear regression testing using the F test. The results of this research show that there is a significant influence between archiving administration on service quality with tcount>ttable with a determinant coefficient of 0.374. So it can be concluded that archives administration has a 37.4% influence on service quality, so overall it can be concluded that archives management has a significant influence on service quality at elementary school. With this research, it is hoped that all levels of teacher personnel and school principals can implement better archiving management in order to improve service quality.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors contributing to low student activeness in Grade 5 at SDN 05 Muara Ilai in the Integrated Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject. The research aims to identify and analyze the internal and external factors that influence students’ participation during classroom learning. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation involving the class teacher, the student’s seatmate, and the previous class teacher. The findings reveal that low student activeness is caused by the interaction of multiple factors. Internal factors include biological conditions, particularly health-related issues, which significantly affect students’ physical readiness, concentration, and energy levels. These biological factors are closely linked to psychological aspects such as low motivation, lack of self-confidence, emotional withdrawal, and cognitive difficulties in maintaining focus and processing information. External factors also contribute to the problem, including limited parental support, unfavorable home learning environments, inadequate school facilities, limited health services, and teacher-centered instructional methods dominated by lectures. Socio-cultural influences, such as peer interaction patterns and limited social support regarding health awareness, further affect student participation. In conclusion, low student activeness in IPAS learning arises from the complex interaction of internal and external conditions. Improving student engagement requires integrated efforts addressing health, learning environments, and social support systems.
