Abstract

The lack of varied and targeted training methods has led to suboptimal forehand stroke performance among table tennis extracurricular students at SMA Islam Az-Zahrah Palembang. This study aimed to design and develop an effective forehand drill training model to address this issue. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the product was validated by a table tennis expert, a coaching science expert, and a certified coach. Validation results indicated a high level of validity (average score = 0.94). Small-scale trials with 10 students achieved an average score of 87.4%, while large-scale trials with 30 students scored 95.16%, both categorized as “very good.” The findings demonstrate that the developed model is valid, practical, and effective in improving the accuracy, consistency, and coordination of forehand strokes in table tennis. It can serve as a reference for coaches and physical education teachers in designing structured and engaging training sessions.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate remains high both globally and in Indonesia. Approximately 75% of these deaths are due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore, childbirth preparation is essential. Active participation in pregnant women's class activities at least four times during pregnancy is recommended. However, class participation at the Long Kali Community Health Center is still low, with only 53% attendance. This research aims to determine the relationship between active participation in pregnant women's classes and preparation for childbirth among third-trimester pregnant women in the Long Kali Community Health Center's working area. The research method used is descriptive analytics with a cross-sectional approach. The research population consisted of all third-trimester pregnant women who participated in pregnant women's class activities, with a sample size of 33. A questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents were aged 20-35 years (72.7%), had low education levels (48.5%), were not employed (81.8%), had multiparous parity (51.5%), actively participated in class activities (63.6%), and were prepared for childbirth (57.6%). The statistical test results showed a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between active participation in pregnant women's classes and childbirth preparation among third-trimester pregnant women in the Long Kali Community Health Center's working area.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Merapi Selatan in volleyball passing skills through the implementation of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning model. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected using performance tests, observations, and documentation. The findings showed a significant increase in students’ activeness and mastery of basic volleyball techniques, particularly forearm passing. The percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria increased from 65.5% in the pre-cycle to 81.25% in Cycle I, and further to 93.75% in Cycle II. These results indicate that the TAI model not only enhanced students’ technical skills but also fostered collaboration, responsibility, and active participation in the learning process. This study recommends the integration of TAI in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning to optimize both cognitive and psychomotor outcomes. Future research may explore the application of TAI in other sports disciplines and grade levels to broaden its pedagogical impact.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify and describe the dominant physical components of Petanque athletes in South Sumatra to provide empirical data for targeted training program development. A descriptive quantitative design was employed, involving 30 active Petanque athletes selected through a total sampling technique. Physical components assessed included arm muscle endurance, arm power, hand–eye coordination, static balance, and arm muscle strength. Data were collected through standardized field tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and homogeneity tests via SPSS version 26.0. Results indicated that the majority of athletes demonstrated good to excellent performance in arm muscle strength, hand–eye coordination, and arm muscle endurance. Specifically, 33.33% of athletes were categorized as excellent, 60% as good, and 6.67% as moderate, with an overall mean score of 28.59 (good category). However, arm power and static balance showed greater variability, with some athletes falling into moderate categories, suggesting areas for improvement. These findings highlight the need for coaches to design specialized training interventions focusing on explosive arm power and balance without neglecting maintenance of already dominant components. The profiling data generated in this study can assist coaches, sports organizations, and policymakers in developing more effective, evidence-based athlete preparation programs for regional and national competitions.
