Abstract

Technological advancement has significantly influenced parenting patterns, including in Sirnaresmi Village, Gunung Guruh District, Sukabumi Regency. Many children use gadgets primarily for entertainment without adequate supervision, making them vulnerable to addiction and exposure to inappropriate content. This community service program aimed to improve mothers’ understanding of how to guide their children in using gadgets safely and productively. The activity employed a participatory socialization method through interactive lectures, group discussions, Q&A sessions, and simple simulations. An evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure changes in participants’ knowledge.The results indicated a considerable improvement in three key aspects: parental guidance, internet ethics and safety, and strategies for managing screen time and selecting appropriate content. The average score for parental guidance increased from 48 to 82 (70%), internet ethics and safety from 46 to 72 (56%), and screen-time and content-management strategies from 44 to 75 (70%). This program was considered moderately successful because the concise, practical material encouraged active participation, despite time constraints and minor technical issues.

Abstract

Honesty (ṣidq) is a fundamental moral value in Islam that serves as the foundation for personal integrity and social ethics. In the current era of globalization and growing materialistic culture, this value faces serious challenges as societal orientation shifts from moral virtue to economic achievement and social image. This study employs a narrative review method, analyzing recent literature on moral education, Islamic ethics, and contemporary social dynamics. The findings reveal that honesty functions not only as a personal virtue but also as a social force that strengthens public trust and national stability. However, the global wave of materialism has weakened the internalization of ṣidq, especially among younger generations. Restoring honesty as the moral identity of the nation requires synergy among character-based education, spiritual reinforcement, and public policies that promote transparency and integrity. The recontextualization of honesty through Islamic spiritual principles and Rokeach’s value theory offers a path toward moral recovery for Indonesian society amid the global challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of learning methods, assessment systems, and learning evaluation in the Philosophy of Science course at STAI Al-Andina Sukabumi, particularly for first-semester students. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the course lecturer to explore the rationale for selecting the lecture method, assessment practices, and evaluation strategies applied in the learning process. The findings indicate that the lecture method combined with guided discussion was chosen as an adaptive strategy to help students develop a conceptual foundation for abstract and theoretical material. The assessment system places greater emphasis on student attendance and participation as a form of process-oriented assessment that encourages active engagement. Learning evaluation is conducted continuously through technology-based quizzes to monitor students’ understanding progressively. These results suggest that the Philosophy of Science learning process at STAI Al-Andina has adopted a contextual and formative pedagogical approach; however, further development of more varied assessment and evaluation methods is still needed to accommodate students’ diverse abilities.
