Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the project-based learning (PjBL) model in improving students’ collaboration skills and environmental literacy in ecosystem topics. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest involving 32 seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Perbaungan. Research instruments consisted of observation sheets and an environmental literacy test that had been validated and tested for reliability. The results indicate that the implementation of PjBL successfully enhanced students’ collaboration skills and environmental literacy in cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. In conclusion, project-based learning is effective in developing collaboration and environmental literacy, as well as fostering students’ awareness and responsibility toward the environment. Abstract

This study aims to examine how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are presented in science textbooks used by seventh-grade junior high school students in Medan. The method employed was content analysis of two science textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Yudhistira. The study focused on six SDG targets: Goals 2, 3, 6, 13, 14, and 15. The results show that the presentation of SDGs in the textbooks varies in clarity, quantity, quality, and context. Environmental aspects (SDGs 13, 14, and 15) appear more frequently than social and economic aspects (SDGs 2, 3, and 6), which tend to appear indirectly. Overall, the integration of SDGs in the textbooks does not fully reflect the principles of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), as the content primarily emphasizes cognitive components rather than practical skills, attitudes, and actions. These findings  highlight  the importance  of  science textbooks in supporting sustainable education through curriculum updates, enhancement of ESD competencies, and the development of evaluation systems aligned with SDG achievement. Abstract

Wabah virus corona sampai sekarang terus meningkat. Karenanya, masyarakat dihimbau untuk menjaga kesehatan dengan cara melakukan protokol kesehatan. Ialah salah satunya menggunakan masker, rajin membersihkan tangan dengan sabun dan memaki hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer adalah pencuci tangan yang praktis buat mencegah diri dari kuman yang menempel pada tangan. Adapun maksud kegiatan pelatihan ini ialah memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada Peserta Didik Pondok Pesantren Salalimul Fudhola, Desa Bah Sarimah, Kec. Silou Kahean, Kab. Simalungun, Sumatera Utara tentang banyaknya manfaat lidah buaya (aloe vera) yang salah satunya ialah sebagai tumbuhan yang memiliki kandungan untuk mendukung aktivitas antibakteri sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai alternative bahan pembuatan hand sanitizer. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode PAR (Participatory Action Research). Hasil yang diperoleh adalah sebagian besar santri dan santriwati mampu memahami dan ikut mempraktekkan proses pengelolaan lidah buaya menjadi handsanitizer, dan mampu mengingat berbagai alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan. Pelatihan ini memenuhi indikator ketercapaian target peserta pelatihan, ketercapaian target materi, dan ketercapaian tujuan pelatihan.
