Abstract

Unintended pregnancy (KTD) is a serious problem in the world of reproductive health, including among health workers. This study aims to identify factors that contribute to the occurrence of KTD in health workers at RSU Ibu Kartini Kisaran in February 2023. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected through a questionnaire from 30 respondents who experienced KTD. The results showed that most health workers who experienced KTD were 20–30 years old, unmarried, and had limited knowledge about contraception. The main causal factors were lack of access to contraception, partner pressure, and social stigma against the use of contraception among health workers. These results indicate the need for educational interventions and internal hospital policies that support the reproductive health of health workers. This study is expected to be the basis for developing health promotion programs and reproductive counseling in the hospital environment.

Abstract

Stunting is a disorder of growth and development of children due to chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections, which is characterized by their length or height being below standard. Stunting toddlers are included in chronic nutritional problems caused by many factors such as socio-economic conditions, maternal nutrition during pregnancy, illness in infants, and lack of nutritional intake in infants. This writing method uses a case study method with a family nursing care approach to An.Hi, a stunting patient with 1 child patient. Data collection uses family nursing care which includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Based on the analysis of data obtained from the assessment, there is one priority diagnosis, namely nutritional deficit related to the inability to absorb nutrients, characterized by a weight loss of at least 10% below the ideal range. The supporting factor in this case study is the willingness of all family members to improve An.Hi's nutritional status. It is expected that the family should be able to recognize the health problems of their family members, then the family can decide what actions should be taken immediately, caring for sick family members.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and attacks lung tissue. This study was conducted to provide an overview of nursing care for clients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis respiratory system disorders who experience nursing problems of ineffective airway clearance. This case study used a nursing process approach that includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, physical examinations, and documentation studies. The results found that the main problem was ineffective airway clearance. Interventions carried out included the semi-Fowler position, effective coughing recommendations, administration of warm fluids, and sputum observation. The evaluation showed an improvement in symptoms in the form of reduced shortness of breath, easier sputum to expel, and improved breathing patterns. Abstract

Type II Diabetes Mellitus is one of the endocrine system disorders characterized by chronic hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance and/or decreased insulin secretion. One of the common complications that often accompanies it is nutritional deficit, which has the potential to worsen the metabolic condition and quality of life of patients. This study aims to describe the nursing care provided to Mr. A, a patient with Type II Diabetes Mellitus who experiences nutritional deficit. The nursing process approach is used in the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. The main nursing diagnosis raised is nutritional deficit related to decreased food intake due to decreased appetite and metabolic disorders. Nursing interventions include monitoring nutritional status, providing education about diabetes diet, and psychological support to improve patient compliance and appetite. The evaluation results showed an increase in body weight, improvement in laboratory values, and an increase in daily food intake. Appropriate and collaborative nursing care can improve the nutritional status of patients with Type II DM, as well as prevent further complications. It is hoped that this case study can be a reference in clinical nursing practice, especially in treating patients with metabolic disorders and nutritional problems.
