Abstract

The rapid development of information technology demands continuous adaptation in the field of education, including at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level. One of the main challenges today is how to utilize engaging, effective learning media that align with the developmental characteristics of young children. At PAUD Dadali, challenges are still found in the use of infographics as learning media, primarily due to teachers’ limited understanding of visual communication design principles and their lack of skills in using graphic design software. This community service activity aims to provide training and assistance to PAUD Dadali teachers in creating infographics as learning media using the Canva application. Canva was chosen because it offers advantages over other graphic design tools, such as an easy-to-use interface and a wide selection of templates relevant to educational needs. These strengths make Canva a practical solution for teachers without a design background. The implementation methods included field interviews to identify partner needs, training planning and execution, and outcome evaluation. The training began with theoretical material on the basic principles of visual communication design, followed by a practical session using Canva. The results of the training show that participants acquired new skills in using Canva to create teaching materials. This is expected to enhance the quality of teaching at PAUD Dadali and support a more interactive and easily understandable learning process for young children.

Abstract

Desa Galuga, Kabupaten Bogor, menghadapi tantangan ekologis akibat akumulasi sampah selama puluhan tahun, namun memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan ekonomi hijau. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan teknis dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mengelola sampah menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi serta memberi pengetahuan mengenai penggunaan media sosial sebagai tempat penjualan produk daur ulang. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah minimnya keterampilan pengolahan limbah dan terbatasnya strategi promosi melalui pemasaran digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui pencarian pengetahuan, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), serta workshop teknis. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi, ditemukan bahwa limbah anorganik seperti sendok plastik, galon bekas, tutup botol, dan tali sepatu merupakan jenis sampah yang umum ditemukan di lingkungan sekitar. Melalui kegiatan workshop, masyarakat dilatih mengolah limbah-limbah tersebut menjadi produk kreatif bernilai jual, seperti hiasan lampu dan gantungan kunci. Selain aspek produksi, demi mendukung keberlanjutan usaha, peserta juga dibekali materi strategi pemasaran digital melalui media sosial. Materi ini fokus pada teknik promosi produk secara daring untuk menjangkau konsumen luas serta membuka akses pasar yang lebih efektif. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa peserta seminar dan workshop merasa sangat puas dengan materi serta praktik yang diberikan. Masyarakat kini memiliki kemampuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi limbah lokal dan mengubahnya menjadi barang ekonomis. Luaran dari PkM ini adalah terbentuknya rintisan kelompok usaha kreatif berbasis sampah yang siap mendukung kemandirian ekonomi rumah tangga. Program ini diharapkan memperkuat masyarakat Desa Galuga dalam menerapkan prinsip circular economy sebagai solusi berkelanjutan atas permasalahan lingkungan dan ekonomi lokal.

Abstract

This study is motivated by concerns over the erosion of local cultural values among Indonesian youth due to the massive influx of foreign popular culture. Meanwhile, Aniwayang Studio has successfully adapted traditional wayang culture into a contemporary medium of animation. This innovative success is validated by significant global achievements, including appearances at the World Osaka Expo 2025 and the Kineko International Children's Film Festival in Japan, alongside recognition and support from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. Employing a qualitative descriptive method and the Charles Sanders Peirce semiotic approach the research seeks to understand how the studio adapts wayang and Nusantara culture by analyzing the visual and auditory signs within the animation. Data were collected through observation and documentation of the “Opening Song” episode of Serial Desa Timun. The findings indicate that the visual design, including the two-dimensional profiled characters, batik motifs, and a limited black color palette on a cream-brown background, effectively function as icons and indices of traditional wayang kulit (shadow puppet) theater. The appearance of various objects, along with the use of gamelan music acts as a strong index and symbol of Nusantara cultural heritage. The analysis suggests that the animation recontextualizes traditional wayang elements into a modern, accessible, and culturally rich format. The study concludes that this innovative approach positions "Aniwayang" as a good reference for cultural preservation, evidenced by its significant achievements. This research serves as a globally recognized case study for understanding how to revitalize cultural identity through digital media.
