Abstract

Mastery of vocabulary, especially Arabic listening skills, is a basic ability that students must master in order to learn Arabic. Vocabulary mastery in listening skills in class VII MTs N 2 Kudus is still relatively low. Student enthusiasm and activity are still quite lacking due to several factors. Apart from that, there is a lack of media use by teachers. So students seem monotonous when learning Arabic in class. Therefore, there is a need for interactive media so that it can attract students interest in learning Arabic. One of them is by applying interactive power pointmedia to improve vocabulary mastery in Arabic listening skills for class VII MTs N2 Kudus. The type and design of this research are quantitative and quasiexperimental, with a pre-test-post-test nonequivalent control group design pattern.Data collection techniques use tests and non-tests. The data analysis technique is hypothesis testing. The research results show that the implementation of the use of interactive power points in learning activities to master vocabulary and Arabic listening skills in class VII MTs N 2 Kudus is quite effective. This is proven based on the test results, namely that in the control class, the average pre-test score was 64.25 and the average post-test score was 70.77. The experimental class had an average pre-test score of 66.19 and an average post-test score of 85.50. From the t-test calculation using SPSS, the t-calculated value for the experimental class obtained a significance value for the pre-test and post-test for the experimental class of 0.000, which means (sig < 0.05). This proves that there is an increase in the average of the pre-test and post-test results of the experimental class. This proves that there is an influence of Power Point media on the post-test results of the experimental class. So there was a rejection of Ho, and what was accepted was Ha, namely that the use of power point media was effective in mastering vocabulary in Arabic listening skills in class VII MTs N 2 Kudus.

Abstract

The problem of students' interest in reading, which is still relatively low, does not only occur in reading Indonesian language but also in Arabic. As for the historical story of the Demak Sultanate, the first Islamic Kingdom on the island of Java, which is very interesting to listen to, unfortunately, not many students in Demak Regency know about it. Therefore, researchers developed history-based picture storybooks in Arabic to increase students' interest in reading Arabic. This research uses a research and development design. The results of this research show that teachers and students want history-based picture storybooks in Arabic. The assessment of the validation questionnaire by experts and teachers regarding language appropriateness obtained a score of 3.56. In the aspect of appropriateness of content and material, the score was 3.88. In the aspect of appropriateness of presentation (display), the score was 3.81. Meanwhile, in the aspect of graphic feasibility, a score of 3.80 was obtained.

Abstract

The limited availability of Arabic storybooks that are relevant to the characteristics of Madrasah Tsanawiyah students has contributed to students’ low engagement in Arabic reading activities. Existing Arabic literacy materials in madrasah learning tend to rely on textbook passages, while story-based media that integrate Qur’anic stories remain limited. This study aims to develop Arabic storybooks based on Qur’anic stories as literacy media to support mahārah qirā’ah among Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. This research employed a Research and Development design using a limited ADDIE model, covering the Analyze, Design, and Develop stages. Data were collected through needs-analysis questionnaires, interviews, observations, and expert validation sheets, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The validation results showed an average score of 83.5%, which falls into the highly feasible category. This result indicates that the developed storybook meets the feasibility criteria for content, language, graphics, and presentation. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of Arabic literacy media by integrating narrative learning, visual support, and Qur’anic values. In practice, the product can be used as supplementary reading material for Arabic learning by MTs students. However, this study is limited to product development and expert validation; therefore, its effectiveness in improving students’ reading interest and reading comprehension requires further empirical testing.
