Abstract

Abstract: Acne vulgaris is a very common skin disorder, affecting about 94% of the world's population. This study analyzes the relationship between the use of cosmetics and the severity  of acne vulgaris among female medical students, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra. This study is an  observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of female students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study found a significant association between cosmetic use and the severity of acne vulgaris in female medical students, with most experiencing  moderate acne. These findings are in line with some previous studies, but differ from others. The results showed a significant relationship between the level of cosmetic use and the severity of acne vulgaris.
