Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of adaptive sports activities in enhancing independence and self-confidence among students with physical disabilities (tunedaksa). Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving physical education teachers, students, and parents in an inclusive school setting. The findings reveal that adaptive sports activities tailored to the physical abilities and individual needs of students effectively promote active participation, courage to try new things, and decision-making skills. Furthermore, structured physical activities positively impact students' self-confidence, especially in social interactions and self-acceptance. Key supporting factors include teacher support, availability of assistive tools, and a supportive inclusive environment. The study recommends ongoing training for teachers and sustainable development of adaptive sports programs to optimally support the psychosocial development of students with physical disabilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan teknik dasar dalam permainan bola basket yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan Universitas Negeri Medan. Teknik dasar yang diamati meliputi dribbling, passing, shooting dan lay up. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan observasi dan tes keterampilan. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 4 mahasiswa yang aktif mengikuti kegiatan perkuliahan praktik bola basket. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi kinerja dan uji keterampilan teknik dasar, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam penguasaan teknik dasar bola basket setelah mahasiswa mengikuti beberapa sesi latihan yang terstruktur. Faktor-faktor yang mendukung perkembangan tersebut meliputi intensitas latihan, kualitas pengajaran, dan motivasi internal mahasiswa. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar dalam pengembangan kurikulum pembelajaran bola basket yang lebih efektif di lingkungan fakultas Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran yang terarah dan sistematis dapat berkontribusi secara positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan teknik dasar dalam permainan bola basket
