Abstract

Construction industry in Malaysia has moved forward into technology-driven where its transition is in progress from conventional method to a more advanced and mechanized system known as the Industrialized Building System (IBS). This paper presents economic aspects of using Interlocking Hollow Brick System (IHBS) in the construction of the Primary Distribution Sub-station (PPU) of energy infrastructure asset development. The main objective is to compare the difference in construction method between IHBS with the conventional method. The study is focused on comparing various aspects of using interlocking block system in terms of time, costs, and utilization of workforce. Building Information Modelling tools in this study are used. From the analysis and modeling of the PPU, it is shown that the implementation of IHBS can reduce construction time, cost, and utilization of workforce up to 40% - 50% as compared to the conventional method. The construction time using IHBS can be reduced up to 48% as compared to the conventional construction method.

Abstract

Land subsidence is a geomorphological event that affects Earth’s structure and physiognomy. This phenomenon occurs when the groundwater volume changes and results in the movement and sinking of sediment. Several studies have been conducted to identify major causes or factors that may lead to land subsidence. It was found that land subsidence intensity is influenced by several factors, i.e. terrain slope and aspect, land use, soil moisture content, and distance to a river. Population density contributes to continuous changes in land use. Deep investigation of factors that contribute to land subsidence such as population density is important. This study investigated the relationship between land subsidence and population density contributing to continuous land-use changes. The study area was a highly populated slum area along the Musi River in Palembang, Indonesia. Factors that have high contribution to land subsidence were considered in developing a land subsidence susceptibility map. Susceptibility analysis was done using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Land subsidence features were associated with slum features and the result revealed a significantly high correlation (r = 0.844) between actual land subsidence areas and the developed susceptibility map.

Abstract

Reason one choose a field of study is that we often hear when the students are studying. This can occur because most students choose majors based on the strong influence of the environment, such as a friend or a parent. By the time these students realize that their chosen field of study is not in accordance with the potential of the talent they have, timbulah regrets later on. If a case of choosing this field of study continues, it will affect the learning achievement of the students themselves. Effect of talent with accomplishment is strong. But it was not easy to know one's talent. To find potential talent necessary psychological test and consultation with a psychologist who will not be cheap. Therefore timbulah idea to build an expert system that can detect potential talent that can provide an alternative appropriate field of study based on the potential talents. Detecting potential talent is done by psychometric analysis. Psychometric analysis is used as a tool to determine a person's field of study. Through quantitative analysis will be done the preparation of test item is valid and reliable. The results of the analysis of an expert system, same / approach with the ideas of a specialist / psychologist. The model used to build the expert system is a decision tree model (decesion tree) using algorithms C.4.5. The expert system is implemented through a web-based application. Web-based expert system can be easily accessible, anywhere and anytime, and thus will be more efficient utilization and dissemination. With this application, is expected to help potential mahsiswa in determining the appropriate field of study based on the potential of the talent they have.Key word : Expert systems, Decision tree model, Psychometric analysis, Web applications

Abstract

Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa penggunaan internet saat ini telah merambah kesemua sektor kehidupan. Termasuk sektor Pendidikan, dalam hal ini mahasiswa sebagai objek dari kajian ini. Sejatinya mahasiswa tidak hanya menjadi pengguna internet biasa saja yang identik dengan rutinitas mereka untuk membuat tugas, mencari referensi, dan berinteraksi dan berorganisasi guna menggali potensi yang mereka miliki seperti potensi kepemimpinan. Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika telah merancang program peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai pengenalan perangkat digital ini yang disebut dengan Program Literasi Digital. Secara praktis pengetahuan literasi digital dapat memberikan manfaat besar dalam kelangsungan memahami dan mendalami ruang lingkup organisasi dan kepemimpinan. Hasil survey yang dilakukan oleh Asosiasi Pengguna Jasa Internet Indonesia (APJII) mengenai penetrasi pengguna internet berdasarkan pekerjaan, dan pendidikan bahwa didominasi oleh pelajar dan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan PKM melalui kerjasama dengan organisasi kemahasiswaan Ilmu Pemerintahan ini, diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif bagi mahasiswa di kota Palembang yang nantinya dapat mereka terapkan pada organisasi masing -maisng. Beberapa hal yang menjadi catatan penting melalui kegiatan ini diantaranya adalah masih perlunya penambahan pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang literasi digital saat ini, serta pengetahuan kepemimpinan dan organisasi yang dapat memberikan pengalaman dan pengetahuan dalam mengembangkan keahlian dan bakat mahasiswa dalam memimpin. Namun perlu diantisipasi juga dampak negatif dari kemajuan teknologi digital ini. Hal inilah yang terdapat dalam literasi digital bahwa mahasiswa harus mengenal empat pilar literasi digital yaitu digital skill, digital culture, digital ethics dan digital safety.
