Abstract

This paper examines the impact of digital economy tools on the business performance and empowerment of women entrepreneurs in Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta. It focuses on how digital bookkeeping, e-commerce, social media advertising, and digital payment systems influence monthly turnover. This research uniquely focuses on women entrepreneurs in a traditional Indonesian market, combining localized data with digital economy analysis. Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 143 women entrepreneurs in Beringharjo Market. It employed Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression to analyze the relationship between turnover and four independent variables: digital bookkeeping, e-commerce usage, social media advertising, and digital payment adoption. Digital bookkeeping has the most statistically significant impact on turnover. The results suggest that financial management tools are most effective, while marketing tools offer potential benefits, and payment tools serve more operational roles. Digital payments improve efficiency but do not directly boost revenue. The study supports the advancement of SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), recommending digital literacy programs, improved tech access, and supportive policies to maximize impact.

Abstract

The swift advancement of our times continues to present waste as a significant challenge that requires our attention. Countermeasures are carried out with efforts that combine environmental and economic aspects or what is called a circular economy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the independent variables, namely GDP, area, population, and circular economy implementation efforts with the dependent variable measured is the amount of daily waste generation. This research adopts a mixed method, which includes a quantitative approach through panel regression and a qualitative approach with mapping using Geo-Map orange data mining. This research was conducted in 17 kapanewon in Bantul Regency. The results showed that the amount of daily waste generation at kapanewon in Bantul Regency was influenced by GDP, population, and TPS3R with a probability value of 0.000 <0.05. The results on each variable are that the GDP variable has an influence of 0.25 on the circular economy, the population has an influence of 1.05. Meanwhile, the TPS3R variable has a coefficient of -1.42, which shows that the role of the Bantul Regency government in reducing the amount of waste generation is quite effective. This shows that the population gives the biggest role in the amount of waste generation in each kapanewon in Bantul Regency

Abstract

The tourism sector in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) is a significant contributor to the Regional Gross Domestic Product (PAD). However, the dynamics occurring before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic have created uncertainty regarding the contributions of various factors driving tourism. Empirical knowledge about the variables that most influence tourism revenue remains limited, particularly at the district/city level in DIY. This study aims to analyze the impact of the number of tourists, the number of tourist villages, the number of natural tourist attractions, and the number of museums on tourism revenue in four districts and one municipality in DIY, as well as to identify the factors that play a significant role in shaping the region's tourism performance. This research employs a quantitative approach using panel data analysis covering the period before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The dependent variable in this study is tourism revenue. In contrast, the independent variables include the number of tourists, the number of tourist villages, the number of natural tourist attractions, and the number of museums. The results indicate that the number of tourist villages (p = 0.0112) and the number of tourists (p = 0.0130) have a positive and significant impact on tourism revenue. Conversely, the number of natural tourist attractions and educational tourism does not show a significant effect. The variable for the number of museums shows a positive influence with a significance value approaching the threshold (p = 0.0527), indicating potential contribution. These findings emphasize that community-based factors and the level of tourist visits are the primary determinants of tourism revenue in DIY. In conclusion, tourism revenue in DIY is more influenced by participatory aspects through tourist villages and the intensity of tourist visits than by the number of formal tourist attractions. Therefore, regional tourism development strategies should focus on strengthening tourist villages and enhancing attractions for visitors
