Abstract

An educational activity on the use of agricultural waste as animal feed through fermentation technology was held in Kapedi Village, Bluto Subdistrict, Sumenep Regency. The aim of this activity was to improve farmers' understanding and skills in processing agricultural waste, such as rice straw and corn cobs, into alternative feed that is highly nutritious and environmentally friendly. The methods used included interactive extension, practical fermentation feed production, discussion, and evaluation. The results showed high enthusiasm among participants, increased knowledge about fermentation technology, and successful production of fermented feed that was liked by livestock and had the potential to increase productivity. The main obstacles, namely limited initial knowledge and the length of fermentation time, could be overcome with technical assistance. This extension not only provides an economical and high-quality livestock feed solution but also supports sustainable agricultural waste management. It is recommended that fermentation materials be facilitated, advanced training be provided, and socialisation be carried out in other villages so that the benefits of this technology can be expanded.

Abstract

Untuk memaksimalkan potensi pariwisata daerah ini, penting untuk melibatkan generasi muda dalam upaya promosi melalui media digital. Pelajar SMAN 1 Kalianget , sebagai bagian dari komunitas lokal, memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung promosi pariwisata melalui peningkatan literasi media digital mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode edukasi dan praktik promosi media sosial untuk meningkatkan literasi media digital pelajar SMAN 1 Kalianget. Hasil pengabdian ini Pertama, Pelajar memperoleh pengetahuan yang mendalam tentang potensi pariwisata Sumenep, termasuk keindahan alam, kekayaan budaya, dan aktivitas unik yang ditawarkan oleh daerah tersebut. Kedua, Pelajar berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan dalam penggunaan media digital, termasuk pembuatan konten visual dan teks yang efektif, serta teknik promosi melalui platform sosial media. Ketiga, Melalui pembuatan dan penyebaran konten digital, pelajar berkontribusi secara langsung dalam mempromosikan pariwisata Sumenep, meningkatkan visibilitas destinasi dan menarik perhatian audiens yang lebih luas di media sosial. Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower women in Sumenep through entrepreneurship training, digital financial inclusion, and strengthening gender-responsive MSMEs in a sustainable community development context. The main problem identified was the low level of economic independence and competitiveness of women's businesses, particularly in the MSME sector. Therefore, this activity was designed with an approach that included entrepreneurship training to improve business skills, the implementation of digital financial inclusion to expand access to financial services, and strengthening MSMEs with a gender-responsive approach to increase competitiveness. The methods used in this activity included direct training, mentoring, and providing participants with access to relevant technology and information. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the economic independence and competitiveness of women's businesses in Sumenep, with the identification of a number of MSMEs that are growing and able to optimally utilize technology and digital financial services to support business sustainability and local economic development.

Abstract

Tobacco is a leading commodity that forms the foundation of the rural economy, but its cultivation faces challenges in the form of labour intensity, significant capital requirements, and farmers' lack of understanding of systematic cost structures. This study aims to analyse the production cost structure and evaluate the economic efficiency of tobacco farming managed by the Batu Daun Farmer Group in Batuan Village, Sumenep Regency. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection through in-depth interviews with the head of the farmer group, field observations, and analysis of financial documents as secondary data. The analysis focused on identifying fixed and variable costs, as well as evaluating economic performance using the Break Even Point (BEP) and Revenue-Cost Ratio (R/C) indicators. The results showed that the total production cost was IDR 28,597,500 (fixed costs of IDR 3,450,000 and variable costs of IDR 25,147,500) for the production of 2,800 kg of tobacco with a gross income of IDR 70,000,000. The R/C ratio value of 2.44 (>1) indicates that the business is operating efficiently and profitably, while the BEP of 215.4 kg shows that actual production far exceeds the break-even point, meaning that the business is in an economically safe zone. The results of the study conclude that the tobacco farming business of the Batu Daun Farmer Group is economically viable and efficient.
