Abstract

Introduction: Needle procedures are common actions that are often encountered in emergencies. Emergency Departement (ED) with high workloads sometimes needle procedures are performed by force, thus causing uncontrolled pain, long-term negative psychological disorder, impairing physical evaluation and clinical outcome. The purpose of this review is to identify nursing intervention to reduce pediatric pain in needle procedures in ED. Methods: The literature search used the PubMed database with the keywords: nursing intervention, pain, needle procedures or injection and emergency department. Article criteria: 1) full text, 2) published in the 2016-2020 period, 3) employing Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) research design, and 4) respondents aged 3-13 years old. Analysis of the quality of articles using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). Result: 171 articles identified. Based on criteria and quality assessment of articles as many as 6 articles reviewed with focus intervention: virtual reality, parental presence, buzzy aplication, ditto aplication, humanoid robot and listening music. Conclusion: Nurses can use these interventions in the nursing care to reduce pediatric pain during needle procedures in ED.

Abstract

Nyeri dada akut merupakan salah satu tanda kegawatan Sindrom Koroner Akut (SKA). Pertolongan segera yang tepat saat nyeri dirasakan yaitu segera ke rumah sakit. Akan tetapi, hasil analisis masalah di Puskesams Waipare ditemukan 90% masyarakat menunda kerumah sakit dan memilih mengobati diri sendiri. Untuk itu penyuluhan kesehatan harus diberikan kepada mereka yang beresiko menderita SKA. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu memberikan informasi agar masyarakat mampu melakukan tindakan yang tepat saat mengalami nyeri dada akut. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Waipare Kabupaten Sikka sebanyak 4 kali selama 60-90 menit dengan metode kegiatan yaitu ceramah, tanya jawab, berbagi pengalaman dan diskusi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2023.  Sebanyak 38 orang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menujukkan adanya perubahan positif terkait pertolongan pertama nyeri dada akut. Saat pretest yang paling banyak adalah melakukan tindakan yang tidak tepat yaitu sebanyak 12 orang (31.6%) memilih untuk mengobati diri sendiri dan pada saat postest yang paling banyak adalah melakukan tindakan yang tepat yaitu sebanyak 32 orang (84.2%) pasien memutuskan untuk segera ke rumah sakit.  Bagi tenaga kesehatan untuk selalu memberikan informasi terkait penyakit jantung secara berkala kepada pasien

Abstract

Breastfeeding is a natural process that provides benefits for both mother and baby. However, post partum sectio caesarea mothers often experience various challenges in breastfeeding, such as surgical wound pain and lack of support, which can affect breast milk production. One effort to improve breast milk production is through the implementation of breastfeeding father, which refers to the involvement of the father in providing emotional, informational, and instrumental support to the mother. The purpose of this study is to describe maternity nursing care through the implementation of breastfeeding father in increasing breast milk production among post partum sectio caesarea mothers in the Anggrek Ward of RSUD dr. T.C. Hillers Maumere. The method used in this study is descriptive with a case study approach involving two post partum sectio caesarea mothers who experienced problems with breast milk production. The intervention provided included education and involving the husband in supporting the breastfeeding process. The results showed that after the implementation of breastfeeding father, there was an increase in breast milk production, indicated by smoother milk flow, increased breastfeeding frequency, and signs of adequate milk intake in the baby. In addition, both mothers showed increased confidence in breastfeeding. In conclusion, the implementation of breastfeeding father is effective in increasing breast milk production among post partum sectio caesarea mothers
