Abstract

Cirebon oral literature, specifically tembung éntar, is an essential cultural resource that reflects societal values, particularly concerning gender roles. However, previous studies have not thoroughly examined how these expressions play out in ritual practices, highlighting a gap that this research seeks to fill. This study investigates the concept of gender found in tembung éntar and how it changes within the traditional ritual of Slametan Memitu. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with semiotic analysis, 412 tembung éntar texts were analyzed. The data collection process involved documentation and analysis performed in four stages: gathering data, reducing it, presenting findings, and verifying the results. The findings showcase symbolic representations of gender roles in which tembung éntar indicates masculine and feminine qualities, including persistence, diligence, care, and obedience. The Slametan Memitu ritual transforms these symbolic meanings into cultural practices, illustrated by expressions such as “Asah, Asih, Asuh” and “Manek gunung temurub jurang,” which emphasize mutual support and resilience. This research offers a fresh perspective by connecting oral literature with ritual performance, stressing the cultural representation of gender roles. Upcoming studies could investigate similar transformations in different cultural settings.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of moral values in the Anthology of Short Stories Senyum Karyamin by Ahmad Tohari and its relevance in literary learning in high school. Through a qualitative-descriptive research method with content analysis techniques, the researcher found four main categories of moral values, namely values related to God, self, the social environment, and nature, with a strong dominance in social aspects. This tendency shows the author's ideological intention in framing social reality morally. The results of the study show that these values are relevant for the formation of students' character, especially in the aspects of spirituality, personal responsibility, interpersonal communication, and environmental concern. Therefore, this anthology is worthy of being used as a teaching resource in strengthening value-based literary literacy in grade XI of high school.

Abstract

Kesadaran lingkungan pada anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus, khususnya di Kabupaten Cirebon masih sangat rendah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan pendidikan yang lebih adaptif dalam membangun kesadaran ekologis, khususnya bagi Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK). Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan program ekoliterasi berbasis kearifan lokal sebagai strategi pedagogis yang inovatif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai kesadaran lingkungan pada siswa ABK. Metode kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui tahapan monitoring, sosialisasi dan evaluasi. Monitoring dan evaluasi tersebut dilakukan untuk mengamati pola perubahan perilaku anak-anak SLB sebelum pelaksanaan dan setelah kegiatan sosialisasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan berbasis kearifan lokal secara efektif meningkatkan pemahaman siswa ABK tentang ekoliterasi, sekaligus memperkuat rasa tanggung jawab siswa terhadap pelestarian lingkungan sekitar.
