Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the application of stock card systems in inventory management among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), despite their significant potential to enhance stock control effectiveness and operational sustainability, particularly in the herbal beverage sector. The purpose of this study is to explore the implementation and evaluate the effectiveness of stock card usage for recording functional beverage inventory, with a focus on the Telang Sari business unit at P4S X, Kulon Progo Regency. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research involved a single business unit selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and visual documentation, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that the use of stock cards improves record accuracy, accelerates stock-checking processes, and fosters a more disciplined work culture in warehouse management. These results support Grindle’s contextual-based management approach and demonstrate that simple yet systematic manual recording systems can serve as effective solutions for non-digitized MSMEs. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the literature on manual inventory control and practical recommendations for MSME actors and support institutions to adopt stock cards as an initial step toward a more integrated inventory management system. This study also opens pathways for further research on the integration of manual and digital systems in the microenterprise sector.

Abstract

Biofarmaka processing MSMEs (UMKM) such as P4S X in Kulon Progo play a strategic role in supporting the agriculture and health sectors based on natural ingredients, yet face challenges in inventory management due to the absence of a structured and documented recording system. This condition hinders accurate monitoring of raw material availability and poses risks to production continuity. This study aims to design and implement a stock card system as a simple, effective, and operationally appropriate inventory recording solution for MSMEs. A qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed, with data collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of inventory management activities at P4S X. The results show that the stock card system improves recording accuracy, facilitates regular inventory monitoring, and supports the determination of reorder points. Furthermore, its implementation fosters more disciplined recording habits among warehouse managers. The study concludes that the stock card system is a relevant, applicable inventory management tool with a positive impact on the operational efficiency of biofarmaka-processing MSMEs. The findings imply that simple yet targeted managerial interventions can significantly strengthen supply chains and support the sustainability of MSME production.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pemasaran P4S X Kabupaten Kulon Progo menggunakan analisis SWOT. P4S X merupakan UMKM di bidang agribisnis yang fokus pada pengolahan dan pemasaran minuman herbal tradisional berbahan dasar tanaman obat sejak tahun 1998. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan pemilik P4S X. Hasil analisis SWOT menunjukkan bahwa P4S X memiliki kekuatan berupa kemudahan pemesanan, armada transportasi memadai, hubungan baik dengan mitra, jangkauan distribusi luas, serta produk bersertifikasi. Namun, kelemahan yang diidentifikasi adalah peralatan produksi yang masih manual dan pemasaran online yang terbatas. Peluang yang dapat dimanfaatkan meliputi kemajuan teknologi, meningkatnya minat masyarakat terhadap jamu tradisional, serta berkembangnya bisnis online. Ancaman yang dihadapi adalah persaingan produk sejenis, harga kompetitif, dan kondisi ekonomi yang belum stabil. Berdasarkan analisis ini, disusun strategi SO, WO, ST, dan WT untuk memanfaatkan peluang, mengatasi kelemahan, mengelola ancaman, serta memaksimalkan kekuatan demi meningkatkan efektivitas pemasaran P4S X.
