<![CDATA[Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana makna etos kerja pada perempuan Madura. Peneliti ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Informan pada penelitian kali ini adalah perempuan sudah menikah (istri) yang bekerja membantu perekonomian keluarga di Madura sebanyak 7 orang, pekerjaan yang diteliti antara lain petani, nelayan pencari kerang, pedagang, guru madrasah, dan karyawan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara semi terstruktur. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi data dan keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan para perempuan bekerja dengan tujuan membantu suami untuk mencari nafkah untuk perekonomian keluarga yang meliputi biaya hidup dan biaya pendidikan anak, para perempuan tersebut melakukan pekerjaannya secara bertanggung jawab. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukan bahwa pada setiap informan memiliki makan etos kerja menurutnya masing-masing, dan dari semua makna etos kerja terdapat tanggung jawab terhadap pekerjaanya, sehingga dapat disimpulan bahwa bahwa etos kerja pada perempuan Madura adalah kemampuan seseorang untuk melakukan pekerjaanya secara bertanggung jawab. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat tiga ciri-ciri etos kerja pada perempuan Madura yang dominan yaitu (a) disiplin waktu, (b) pekerja keras, (c) menjaga semangat kerja/ giat bekerja. Dan ciri-ciri pendukung yaitu (a) patang menyerah/ tidak mudah putus asa, (b) jujur/ setulus hati dalam bekerja, (c) siap akan resiko, (d) patuh pada peraturan, (e) tekun/ulet.Kata Kunci: Etos Kerja, Perempuan Bekerja, MaduraAbstract: This study aims to determine how the description of the work ethic of Madurese women. This researcher uses a quatitative approach with the phenomenological method. The informants in this study were married women (wives) who worked to help the family economy in Madura as Many as 7 people, the occupations studied included farmers, fishermen, traders madrasa teachers and employees. The instrument in this study was an interview. The analysis used in this study is data reduction, data presentation, data verification and data validity. The results of this study indicate that women work with the aim of helping their husbands to earn a living for the family economy which includes living expenses and children’s education costs, these women do their work responsibly. The results also show that each informant has a work ethic according to him, and from all meanings of work ethic there is responsibility for his work, so it can be concluded that the work ethic of Madurese women is a person’s ability to carry out his work responsibly. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the Madurese women's work ethic are different for each informant, the difference is caused by the informant's work factor. So from the differences in these characteristics, three dominant characteristics of the work ethic of Madurese women can be found, namely (a) time discipline, (b) hard worker, (c) maintaining work spirit/hard work. And the supporting characteristics are (a) never give up/don't give up easily, (b) honest/sincere in work, (c) ready to take risks, (d) obey the rules, (e) diligent/ tenacious.
