Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Patient safety gets the government's attention as outlined in Health Law Number 44 of 2009. Hospitals are required to provide safe, quality and effective health services by prioritizing patient safety. Based on the observation results, there are several identified factors that can affect patient safety, namely the level of knowledge of nurses, attitudes of nurses, workload of nurses, and implementation of supervision of nurses. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of each level of knowledge, attitude, workload, and implementation of supervision on the implementation of patient safety in nurses at the Inpatient Unit of RSUD Labuang Baji Makassar and to find out the variables that most influence the implementation of patient safety to nurses at the inpatient unit of the Labuang Baji Hospital, South Sulawesi Province. Method: The study population was all nurses in the inpatient unit of Labuang Baji General Hospital, South Sulawesi Province, totaling 181 people. The sampling technique was random sampling, by determining the number of samples using the Slovin formula so that a sample of 127 people was obtained. The analysis tool uses univariate analysis to describe the condition of the respondents and variables, bivariate analysis to measure the effect of variables and multivariate to determine the dominant factor. Results: Show that the attitude and implementation of each supervision had a significant influence on the implementation of patient safety among nurses in the Inpatient Unit of Labuang Baji Hospital, Makassar, while knowledge and workload did not have a significant influence. The variable that has the most influence is supervision.
