Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Window Shopping learning method on improving student learning outcomes in Sociology, particularly on the topic of social conflict and violence. The background of this research is rooted in the low levels of student participation and understanding due to the dominance of less interactive lecture-based methods. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, involving students from class XI-11 at SMAN 13 Surabaya as research subjects. The study was conducted in two cycles: the first cycle used the lecture method, while the second cycle implemented the Window Shopping method. The results indicated an increase in the average learning outcomes from 50.59 to 82.94, with a difference of 32.35 points. The normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed, and the paired sample t-test revealed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that the Window Shopping method effectively enhances student learning, particularly for abstract and complex material.
