Abstract

Mulyorejo Village is an area in the Malang which is has many home industries particularly based on food and drink which is directly proportional with the waste namely waste cooking oil. Recently, the society discharged it directly to the environment. Therefore, it is important for the people of Mulyorejo Village to obtained skills in order to processing that waste. The community service that has been done is how to make liquid dishes soap from waste cooking oil. The active ingredient is potassium hydroxide. In addition, the training was conducted through the use of reuse bottles as a substitute for plastic packaging which can later be filled through refill station. The community service was held on October 6th, 2023 with 15 participants. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it can be seen that the mean value reaches 3.84 and the mode value of each question is 4.0. Thus, it can be informed that the training participants understand, feel the benefit and satisfied with the guidance of liquid dishes soap fabrication. The training participants also received materials and tools for refilling liquid dishes soap from the community service team which could be used to produce liquid dishes soap independently.

Abstract

Dalam proses pengolahan minyak dan gas bumi di Crude Distillation Unit PPSDM Migas Cepu diperlukan berbagai alat perpindahan panas, salah satunya adalah cooler. Di PPSDM Migas Cepu, Cooler-05 digunakan untuk mendinginkan Pertasol CB hasil keluaran dari kolom fraksinasi C2 sebelum masuk ke separaor S4. Dalam proses produksi Pertasol CB yang berlangsung secara kontinyu, proses produksi ini menyebabkan alat di Crude Distillation Unit harus beroperasi selama 24 jam. Hal ini dapat mempengaruhi kinerja Cooler-05 sehingga perlu dilakukan perhitungan efisiensi untuk mengetahui kinerja alat tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja dari Cooler-05 yang ada di Crude Distillation Unit PPSDM Migas Cepu yang didasarkan pada beberapa paramater. Metode evaluasi kinerja Cooler-05 dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulkan dan mengolah data lapangan serta data literatur. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan didapatkan nilai Dirt Factor (Rd) sebesar 0,0086 J.ft2.°F/Btu dengan selisih 7% dari Rd minimal, dimana toleransi selisih yang diperbolehkan maksimal sebesar 10%. Pada pressure drop (ΔP) didapatkan untuk sisi shell dan tube berturut-turut sebesar 0,0001 psi dan 0,00805 psi dengan nilai yang diperbolehkan sebesar 10 psi untuk liquid. Didapatkan pula besar efisiensi perpindahan panas (kalor) sebesar 73,16% dimana suatu alat masih optimal beroperasi jika memiliki efisiensi mencapai 80%. Dengan demikian, perlu dilakukan perawatan

Abstract

Liquid smoke, containing phenolic and acetic acid compounds with antimicrobial and antifungal properties, has potential as a biopesticide for pest and plant disease control. However, farmers have limited awareness and confidence in its effectiveness. To address this, technical training on liquid smoke application was conducted as part of the 2024 Community Service Program, aligned with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The program, implemented for Pokmas Dewi Sri in Jatiguwi Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency, consisted of three stages: (1) initial discussions to identify issues, (2) education on converting agricultural waste into liquid smoke, and (3) evaluation. Training included an introduction to liquid smoke, its benefits, and hands-on production using pyrolysis of rice husks and straw at 350°C for two hours. Results showed that liquid smoke from these materials is effective as a biopesticide. Participants significantly improved their knowledge and skills in liquid smoke production and application. All ten Pokmas Dewi Sri members expressed high enthusiasm and provided positive feedback. This program enhances farmers’ capacity to utilize agricultural waste while reinforcing liquid smoke’s potential as an eco-friendly solution for sustainable pest control.
