Abstract

Controlling blood pressure in patients with hypertension is an effort to prevent blood pressure from exceeding the threshold, namely systolic blood pressure >140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure >90 mmHg. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that have a relationship with controlling blood pressure of patients with hypertension in several locations in Indonesia for the period from 2011 to 2021. This research method is an analytical study by synthesizing the results obtained from ten scientific research journals with case-control research design. The results of the ten journals analyzed showed that the factors that were associated with controlling blood pressure in patients with hypertension in several locations in Indonesia, namely that there was a significant relationship between medication adherence, body mass index, smoking habits, habits exercise, and salt diet on blood pressure of hypertensive patients with p value <0,05. The conclusion of controlling blood pressure of hypertension sufferers in several locations in Indonesia for the period 2011 to 2021 there is a significant relationship with medication adherence, body mass index, smoking habits, exercise habits, and salt diet.

Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are a chronic complication of DM that can occur due to complications of macroangiopathy and microangiopathy, which cause vascular insufficiency and neuropathy. These risk factors are divided into risk factors that can be changed and risk factors that cannot be changed. The aim of the study was to determine the characteristics of DM patients with diabetic ulcers based on (1) age, (2) gender, (3) duration of DM, (4) HbA1c levels, (5) HDL levels, and (6) total cholesterol levels. This study included 55 diabetic patients with diabetic ulcers treated at the Surgical Department of Labuang Baji General Hospital Makassar from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. This study used a retrospective descriptive method using secondary data in the form of medical records of DM patients with diabetic ulcers who were treated at the Department of Surgery at the Labuang Baji Hospital, Makassar. Data analysis was processed using SPSS software. The findings of this study show the distribution of DM patients with diabetic ulcers who were treated at the Surgical Department of Labuang Baji Hospital Makassar from January 1-2021 to December 31-2022, namely: (1) mostly in the elderly age group of 46-65 years (56.4%); (2) more women (54.5%) than men (45.5%); (3) more people with DM > 10 years (65.5%) than DM 10 years (34.5%); (4) more patients with HbA1c The conclusion of this study was that most DM sufferers with diabetic ulcers were in the elderly age group of 46–65 years, were women, had HbA1c levels >8%, HDL levels 45 mg/dl, and total cholesterol levels >200 mg/dl.

Abstract

Diabetic neuropathy is a set of nervous disorders and loss of sensory function starting from the distal part of the lower extremities due to high blood glucose in diabetics, which if left unchecked will cause other complications in the form of diabetic ulcers, gangrene, or autonomic cardiovascular neuropathy, with diabetic neuropathy being the complication with the greatest incidence compared to other complications of diabetes. The purpose of the study was to determine the risk factors for the incidence of diabetic neuropathy: (1) nutritional status, (2) triglyceride levels, (3) duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus, (4) controlled blood sugar, and (5) history of hypertension. This study was conducted on 60 people with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were treated on the road at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Hikmah Makassar Hospital. This study employed observational and analytical-descriptive methods with a cross-sectional research design, collecting primary data through patient interviews and reviewing medical records of diabetic neuropathy patients at Hikmah Hospital Makassar's Internal Medicine Polyclinic. Data analysis is processed using SPSS software. The results of this study showed that the risk factors for the incidence of diabetic neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were treated at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Hikmah Makassar Hospital were: (1) A meaningful relationship was obtained between nutritional status and diabetic neuropathy; (2) A meaningful relationship was obtained between triglyceride levels and diabetic neuropathy; (3) A meaningful relationship was obtained between the duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus and diabetic neuropathy; (4) A meaningful relationship was obtained between controlled blood sugar and diabetic neuropathy; and (5) A meaningful relationship was obtained between a history of hypertension and diabetic neuropathy
