Abstract

Matematika merupakan pelajaran yang penting sehingga tidak asing kalau matematika dinobatkan sebagai ratu, karena dalam perkembangannya matematika tidak bergantung pada ilmu yang lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa kelas 3 dalam belajar matematika, penyelesaian masalah dan faktor yang membuat siswa kesulitan belajar matematika. Karena apabila peserta didik belum memahami materi matematika terlebih materi dasar, maka akan kesulitan mempelajari pelajaran lainnya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seorang siswa di kelas III di salah satu MI di Bantul dan siswa tersebut tinggal di asrama. Ditemukan siswa mengalami kesulitan mempelajari matematika pada materi bilangan satuan, Siswa masih bingung membedakan antara bilangan satuan, puluhan dan ratusan. Siswa masih sering terbalik dalam membedakan bilangan satuan, puluhan dan ratusan. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar seperti kurangnya minat peserta didik terhadap pelajaran matematika, kurangnya motivasi belajar dari dalam diri serta kurangnya penggunaan media belajar. Mathematics is an important subject so it is not surprising that mathematics is crowned queen, because in its development mathematics does not depend on other sciences. The aim of this research is that this research aims to determine the difficulties of grade 3 students in learning mathematics, solving problems and the factors that make students have difficulty learning mathematics. Because if students do not understand mathematics material, especially basic material, they will have difficulty learning other lessons. The type of research used is qualitative method research with a case study approach. The subject of this research was a student in class III at one of the MI in Bantul and the student lived in a dormitory. It was found that students had difficulty learning mathematics on unit numbers. Students were still confused about differentiating between units, tens and hundreds. Students still often have problems distinguishing between units, tens and hundreds. There are several factors that cause learning difficulties, such as students' lack of interest in mathematics lessons, lack of inner motivation to learn and lack of use of learning media.
