ABSTRACTThe prevalence of osteoarthritis in elderly people in Indonesia who suffer from disabilities due to osteoarthritis in Indonesia reaches 21.7%. Osteoarthritis is characterized by progressive damage to joint cartilage and causes structural changes in the joints which ultimately require surgery or are referred to as Total Knee Replacement (TKR). Objective: to find out the management of total knee replacement surgery quality of life for patients with osteoarthritis. Methods: this study is using an analytical design with a cross-sectional study. Results: the study was conducted on 35 respondents, most of which 74% were less than 60 years old and most respondents were female with a total of 85%. The highest pain level before surgery was 86% with severe pain, first month post operation there was a change in the pain level of 74% shifted to moderate pain. The quality of life of respondents before the operation showed poor results as much as 89%, after one month of total knee replacement surgery, there was quite a significant change where the quality of life of respondents became good for 89%. There is a significant relationship between the level of pain and the respondent's quality of life p-value = 0.03. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between physical mobility and quality of life of respondents p-value = 0.14. As a result, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the effect of total knee replacement surgery and quality of life in osteoarthritis patient in at RSX South Tangerang,, Indonesia.Keywords: Total Knee Replacement Surgery; Osteoarthritis; Quality of Life. ABSTRAKPrevalensi osteoartritis pada lansia di Indonesia yang menderita disabilitas akibat osteoartritis di Indonesia mencapai 21,7%. Osteoartritis ditandai dengan kerusakan tulang rawan sendi yang progresif dan menimbulkan perubahan struktur pada sendi yang pada akhirnya memerlukan tindakan pembedahan atau disebut dengan Total Knee Replacement (TKR). Tujuan: untuk mengetahui penatalaksanaan operasi total knee replacement terhadap kualitas hidup pasien osteoartritis. Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan desain analitik dengan rancangan cross-sectional study. Hasil: penelitian dilakukan terhadap 35 responden yang sebagian besar berusia kurang dari 60 tahun sebanyak 74% dan sebagian besar responden berjenis kelamin perempuan dengan total sebesar 85%. Tingkat nyeri tertinggi sebelum operasi sebesar 86% dengan nyeri berat, bulan pertama pasca operasi terjadi perubahan tingkat nyeri sebesar 74% bergeser menjadi nyeri sedang. Kualitas hidup responden sebelum operasi menunjukkan hasil yang kurang baik sebanyak 89%, setelah satu bulan operasi total knee replacement terjadi perubahan yang cukup signifikan dimana kualitas hidup responden menjadi baik sebanyak 89%. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat nyeri dengan kualitas hidup responden dengan nilai p = 0,03. Selanjutnya, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara mobilitas fisik dengan kualitas hidup responden dengan nilai p = 0,14. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dampak operasi total knee replacement dengan kualitas hidup pasien osteoarthritis di RSX Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia.
