Abstract

In the modern era, humans have begun to lose their essence and they prioritize their own existence. Thomas Aquinas was a steadfast philosopher and theologian. When western scientists fiercely opposed his philosophical theorities, he remained firm by maintaining principles that recognized God’s power which is not the same as that of His creatures. The method applied in this research is library research (library search, where in collecting data most of it is obtained from literature and references, both from books, scientific journals, electronic books (ebooks), and the internet related to the research theme. Perennialism can be a solution to return to past civilizations which are considered ideal in line with Plato’s philosophy of idealism. The Qurán is a source of solutions to various kinds of human moral crises so that educators play a role in realizing perennialism through a character education approach.

Abstract

Instilling religious values in early childhood is an important foundation for developing Islamic character. One effective approach is through the practice of prayer. This study aims to describe the application of the practice of prayer in the daily activities of early childhood and its impact on the development of children's religiosity. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques with Kindergarten B students at BA Aisyiyah Paseban II. The results indicate that consistent practice of prayer, such as congregational Dhuha prayer and prayer before studying, can foster spiritual awareness, love for God, and discipline in children. This method also reinforces Islamic values in a natural and enjoyable way. Thus, the practice of prayer is an effective strategy for developing children's religiosity from an early age.
