Abstract

Abstract. Loli Christian High School, located in South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, is one of the private senior high schools that has not implemented the Merdeka curriculum in its learning. Therefore, this community service activity (PKM) aims to introduce the independent curriculum so that teachers can implement it little by little in their lesson document. This activity applied lecturing method in socializing the independent curriculum (the policy of implementing the independence curriculum and the preparation of the Education Unit Operational Curriculum (KOSP) and organizing learning in accordance with the school’s vision, mission, and goals) and training methods in training the making of teaching materials. Participants in this activity are the 22 teachers in Loli Christian High School. Assignment of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also held in this community service activity. This activity received a very good response from school which could be seen from the enthusiasm of all participants in all activities carried out for two days by the PKM team.

Abstract

The English language skills of Christian Education Study Program students are still low. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of English learning program. This research uses a qualititative approach with an evaluation model that focuses on context, input, ptocess, and product. The data in this research comes from interview of two English lecturers and six students who have taken English course in the semester one of 2022/2023 and documentation (curriculum, lesson plans, and journal class). The data collection techniques used were: interview and documentation. The result of the research showed that the implemementation of English learning in Christian Education Study Program had not been effective although the average of each class is above of 70. It could be seen: 1) evaluation context describes that the learning program has not been able to answer the program objectives; 2) evaluation input reveals that the study materials contains in the curriculum are still too general, teaching materials are not yet available to students, and the infrastructure cannot fully support the English language learning process; and 3) evaluation process asserts that the leaning tools are prepared after learning, learning process is carried using the old method, and the form of assignments is not yet project/ problem solving based.

Abstract

The influence of Christian religious education needs to be considered, because the approach and curriculum in the lesson can influence students' perceptions and attitudes towards cultural and religious diversity. Through Christian religious education, it can contribute to the character of social concern and the attitude of tolerance of students in schools. The method used is a quantitative approach. The research instrument is a questionnaire that meets the requirements for validity and reliability using a 1-5 Likert scale model. Data analysis used a simple linear regression analysis test and the coefficient of determination (R square) at an alpha significance level of 0.05 using SPSS version 16.01 for Windows. Based on data analysis in the first hypothesis, it is significant at 0.001 < 0.05 and the magnitude of the influence (R square) is 0.171, and in the second hypothesis it is significant at the figure 0.000 < 0.05 and the magnitude of the influence (R square) is 0.338. The research results concluded that there is a significant influence between Christian religious education on attitudes of tolerance, and there is a significant influence between Christian religious education and cocial concern.
