Abstract

Fine motor skills are a crucial aspect of early childhood development, particularly in hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. This study was motivated by the low fine motor abilities observed in children at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 9 Banjarmasin, especially in pattern- cutting activities. The aim of this research was to enhance children's fine motor skills through the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model, combined with demonstration methods, task assignments, and the use of popsicle stick media. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) across two cycles, involving 10 children in group B. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and developmental assessments, and analyzed descriptively. The focus of the study covered teacher activities, child engagement, and fine motor achievement. The results revealed significant improvement in all three areas. Teacher performance improved from “fair” to “very good”, child engagement exceeded 90% in the “active” and “very active” categories, and fine motor skill achievement increased from 53% to 82%. In conclusion, the integration of PJBL with structured methods and engaging, concrete media has proven to be an effective, enjoyable, and meaningful strategy for developing fine motor skills in early childhood. ABSTRAK Keterampilan motorik halus merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini, terutama dalam hal koordinasi mata dan tangan serta keterampilan jemari. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan motorik halus anak di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 9 Banjarmasin, khususnya dalam aktivitas menggunting pola. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak melalui model Project Based Learning (PJBL) yang dipadukan dengan metode demonstrasi, pemberian tugas, serta penggunaan media stik es krim. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dalam dua siklus, dengan subjek 10 anak kelompok B. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan penilaian perkembangan anak, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Fokus penelitian mencakup aktivitas guru, keaktifan anak, dan capaian motorik halus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada ketiga aspek tersebut. Aktivitas guru meningkat dari kategori “cukup baik” menjadi “sangat baik”, keaktifan anak mencapai lebih dari 90% dalam kategori “aktif” dan “sangat aktif”, serta capaian motorik halus meningkat dari 53% menjadi 82%. Kesimpulannya, penerapan PJBL yang dipadukan dengan metode dan media konkret terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan motorik halus anak secara menyenangkan dan bermakna.
