Abstract

This study analyzes the demand for wheat flour in Medan City, with the aim of determining the effect of wheat flour prices and income on demand. Using the Marshallian Linear Demand model, the data used covers the period 2018-2023. The results of the analysis show that wheat flour prices have a significant effect on demand, with a coefficient of 0.165, while the effect of income is not significant with a coefficient of 0.016. The regression model used shows an R-squared value of 0.842, indicating that this model is able to explain 84.2% of the variation in wheat flour demand. The classical assumption test shows that there are no problems of multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation, and the data is normally distributed. These findings provide insight into the dynamics of wheat flour demand and its implications for marketing strategies in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

This study examines the role of sustainable agriculture in supporting economic development and food security through a literature review of scientific journals published between 2019 and 2024. This study stems from the issues of increasing food demand, the economic vulnerability of rural communities, and environmental pressures on agricultural systems. This study aims to synthesize empirical and conceptual findings related to the contribution of sustainable agriculture to economic growth and strengthening food security. The method used is a systematic literature study by analyzing relevant scientific articles using content and thematic analysis approaches. The results of the study show that sustainable agriculture plays an important role in increasing agricultural productivity, strengthening farmers' incomes, creating economic added value, and improving food system security. Sustainable agricultural practices also contribute to food availability, access, quality, and stability through efficient and adaptive resource management. These findings confirm that the integration of sustainable agriculture into development policies can promote inclusive economic development while strengthening food security in the long term.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) concept in the agricultural sector to support sustainable agriculture in Indonesia. The research is motivated by the increasing challenges in the agricultural sector such as climate change, environmental degradation, low farmer welfare, and weak agricultural governance that impact the sustainability of the national agricultural sector. The ESG concept is presented as a sustainable development approach that emphasizes the balance between environmental, social, and governance aspects in agricultural activities. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data analysis techniques use the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes data reduction, data presentation, and extraction. The results of the study indicate that the application of ESG in the agricultural sector in Indonesia has a significant influence in supporting sustainable agriculture. The environmental aspect influences natural resource management, environmental conservation, and reducing the negative impacts of agricultural activities on the ecosystem. The social aspect influences the improvement of farmer welfare and empowerment through training, institutional strengthening, and social protection. Meanwhile, the governance aspect influences transparency, accountability, and the effectiveness of agricultural sector governance. However, ESG implementation still faces various obstacles such as low farmer literacy, limited access to technology and financing, and suboptimal government policy support.
