ABSTRACT Academic stress in students causes difficulty concentrating, reduces academic motivation, reduces academic achievement and learning outcomes, reduces mental health and well-being, and increases aggressive behavior and drop out (Cahyono, 2020). One effort to reduce academic stress situations is through problem-focused coping. This research is a descriptive correlational study with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara Vocational High School on February 3-4 2025. The population in this study were students at the Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara Vocational High School with a sample size of 61 people taken using a purposive sampling technique. The problem-focused coping variable was measured by the Ways of Coping questionnaire, while the academic stress variable was measured by the educational stress scale for adolescents (ESSA) questionnaire. The data was analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation formula. Most of the respondents had problem-focused coping in the good category, namely 32 people (52.5%) and most of them experienced academic stress in the moderate category, namely 41 people (67.2%). There is a significant relationship between problem-focused coping and academic stress in grade 12 female students at Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara Vocational High School, with a p value of 0.029 < 0.05 (α). ABSTRAK Stres akademik pada siswa menyebabkan kesulitan berkonsentrasi, menurunkan motivasi akademik, menurunkan prestasi akaemik dan hasil belajar, menurunkan kesehatan mental dan well being, serta meningkatkan perilaku agresif dan droup out (Cahyono, 2020). Salah satu upaya mengurangi situasi stres akademik dengan problem-focused coping. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan yang bermakna problem-focused coping dengan stres akademik pada siswa siswi kelas 12 di SMK Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara pada 3-4 Februari 2025. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara dengan besar sampel 61 orang yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Variabel problem-focused coping diukur kuesioner Ways of Coping, sedangkan variabel stres akademik diukur dengan kuesioner educational stress scale for adolescents (ESSA). Data di analisis menggunakan rumus korelasi rank spearman. Sebagian besar responden mempunyai problem-focused coping kategori baik yaitu sebanyak 32 orang (52,5%) dan mengalami stress akademik sebagian besar kategori sedang yaitu sebanyak 41 orang (67,2%). Ada hubungan yang bermakna problem-focused coping dengan stres akademik pada siswa siswi kelas 12 di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Muhammadyah Bangsri Jepara, dengan p value sebesar 0,029 < 0,05 (α).
