Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of adding pineapple peel probiotics to drinking water on quail productivity and egg quality. The experiment used 240 Peksi strain quails, aged 12 weeks, and pineapple peel probiotics containing Lactobacillus casei. A completely randomized design was applied, with six treatment groups receiving varying concentrations of pineapple peel probiotics in drinking water: 0% (P0), 1%/liter (P1), 2%/liter (P2), 3%/liter (P3), 4%/liter (P4), and 5%/liter (P5). The observed parameters included feed consumption, hen-day production (HDP), egg weight, feed conversion ratio, and the fat and cholesterol content of the eggs. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, followed by Duncan's test for post-hoc comparisons where significant differences were observed. The addition of pineapple peel probiotics in drinking water did not significantly affect (P>0.05) feed consumption, daily egg production, egg weight, feed conversion ratio, or the fat and cholesterol content of the eggs. However, supplementation at pineapple peel probiotics in drinking water to can daily egg production in quails.

Abstract

AbstrakPengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peternak dalam pembuatan Herbal Mineral Blok (HMB) sebagai suplemen untuk kambing Peranakan Etawa di Desa Durian, Kecamatan Ambawang, Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Pelatihan ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan ramuan herbal lokal dan campuran mineral untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ternak dan mencegah penyakit. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat merupakan kegiatan dosen yang dilakukan dengan metode pelatihan. Metode pelatihan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi langsung, dan sesi tanya jawab. Mitra yang terlibat sebagai peserta dalam pelatihan adalah kelompok tani (POKTAN) Dusun Siak yang memiliki 25 anggota. Peserta yang hadir merupakan ketua dan anggota POKTAN Dusun Siak sebanyak 10 orang. Persiapan pelatihan terdiri dari penyediaan bahan dan peralatan, serta pengorganisasian peserta. Proses pelatihan mencakup pengenalan teoritis, demonstrasi praktek pembuatan HMB, dan tanya jawab. Evaluasi yang dilakukan dengan pemberian pre-test dan post test serta observasi langsung aplikasi hasil produk oleh peserta kepada ternak kambing Peranakan Etawa. Hasil pelatihan pembuatan Herbal Mineral Blok (HMB) sebagai suplemen untuk kambing Peranakan Etawa sudah terlaksana dengan sukses. Pelatihan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta telah memahami pembuatan suplemen HMB dengan baik. Kata kunci: pelatihan; herbal mineral blok; kambing peranakan etawa; pemeliharaan ternak; suplemen mineral AbstractThis community service aims to increase the understanding and skills of breeders in making Herbal Mineral Blocks (HMB) as a supplement for Etawa crossbreed goats in Durian Village, Ambawang District, Kubu Raya Regency. This training uses local herbal concoctions and mineral mixtures to increase livestock productivity and prevent disease. Community Service is a lecturer activity carried out using training methods. Training methods include lectures, live demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions. The partners involved as participants in the training are the Siak Hamlet farmer group (POKTAN), which has 25 members. The participants who attended were the chairman and members of POKTAN Dusun Siak, as many as 10 people. Training preparation consists of providing materials and equipment and organizing participants. The training includes a theoretical introduction, a practical demonstration of making HMB, and questions and answers. The evaluation was carried out by administering pre-tests and post-tests and directly observing participants' application of the product to Etawa Peranakan goats. The training results on making Herbal Mineral Blocks (HMB) as a supplement for Etawa crossbreed goats have been carried out successfully. This training can be concluded that the participants have understood the manufacture of HMB supplements well. Keywords: training; herbal mineral block; etawa crossbreed goat; livestock maintenance; mineral supplements.
