Abstract

ABSTRAK Tren kasus Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) di Indonesia cenderung mengalami peningkatan dalam dua tahun terakhir. Di kota Depok dilaporkan 282 kasus demam berdarah per Februari 2024. Oleh karena itu diperlukan upaya pencegahan dengan memotivasi dan memberdayakan masyarakat untuk menekan peningkatan kasus DBD. Pengabdian ini meliputi empat kegiatan antara lain, skrining jentik nyamuk, pemberian edukasi, pemasangan kawat kasa, dan pemberian larvasida. Pada pemeriksaan jentik nyamuk, ditemukan jentik nyamuk dari jenis Aedes Aegypti dari sampel rumah warga, terdapat peningkatan pemahaman terkait DBD, serta keluarga bersedia untuk dipasang kawat kasa pada ventilasi yang terbuka. Keberhasilan pengabdian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi pemegang kebijakan dalam upaya pencegahan kasus DBD. ABSTRACTThe trend of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Indonesia has been increasing over the past two years. In the city of Depok, 282 cases of dengue fever were reported as of February2024. Therefore, preventive efforts are needed by motivating and empowering the community to reduce the increase in DHF cases. This community service includes four activities: mosquito larva screening, providing education, installing windows screens, and providing larvicide. During the mosquito larva screening, Aedes Aegypti larvae were found from samples taken from residents' houses. There was an increase in understanding related to DHF, and families agreed to install windows screens on open ventilation. The success of this community service can serve as a reference for policymakers in efforts to prevent DHF cases.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, particularly in the topic of standard units of length. The main objective of this study was to analyze the effect of the STAD learning model on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of third-grade elementary school students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group. The research population consisted of all third-grade students in Paseh District, while the sample included 30 third-grade students from SDN Paseh I as the experimental class and 33 third-grade students from SDN Cileuksa as the control class. Data were collected through mathematical problem-solving ability tests. The findings revealed that the implementation of the STAD model had a positive effect on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, as indicated by an average N-Gain score of 0.48 in the experimental class. Meanwhile, conventional learning also produced a positive effect, but with a lower average N-Gain score of 0.20 in the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the STAD learning model exerted a more significant effect, as reflected in the higher improvement of mathematical problem-solving abilities in the experimental class compared to conventional learning in the control class.
