Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent to which the social studies learning outcomes of class IX J students at SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya have improved through the application of a differentiated approach using the Problem Based Learning model. This research method uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) involving literary steps from planning, implementation, observation and reflection on learning actions. The research participants consisted of 33 class IX J students who were actively involved in the posttest learning process. Data analysis was carried out by looking at the classical average value and classical completeness value. The research results show that the application of a differentiated approach using the Problem Based Learning model improves students' social studies learning outcomes. This is proven by the classical completeness level of 40%, namely from 12% to 52% with details of 17 out of 33 students having completed it compared to during the first cycle, namely only 4 students who had reached the completion mark. These findings provide an important contribution to educational practice, especially in designing more interactive and student-centered learning strategies to improve their learning outcomes in social studies subjects.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increase student participation and learning outcomes in the field of social studies by applying the Miniature of Indonesian Cultural Diversity (MOICD) teaching media in class 8H SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya. This research is a type of classroom action research (CAR) that was conducted in two cycles with the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. In this study, the data collected were sourced from student participation observation sheets, learning outcomes, and supporting documentation. The results showed that there was a positive development both from the aspect of participation (from 73.8 to 86.5) and the completeness of student learning outcomes (from 63.3% with an average score of 77.4 to 93.3% with an average score of 85.2) in cycles I and II, respectively. This proves that the use of MOICD teaching media is effective in increasing students' active involvement and understanding of the material "Diversity of Indonesian Society", as well as in creating a more enjoyable, contextualized, and meaningful learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca kata dasar bagi siswa kelas 2 SD. Penelitian ini berlangsung di kelas 2 SD Negeri 011 Kuala Sebatu, Kecamatan Batang Tuaka, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Provinsi Riau. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan di semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini menggunakan 4 prosedur yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan prosedur refleksi. Pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan individual menggunakan LKPD khusus yang memuat kata dasar dan bidang untuk menyalin huruf vokal dan konsonan. Subjek penelitian tindakan kelas ini para siswa kelas 2 SD yang belum tuntas dalam pembelajaran reguler membaca kata dasar. Mereka hanya berjumlah 9 siswa dari 28 siswa. Instrumen penelitian ini: 1) LKPD khusus yang hanya 3 halaman kertas A4 yang disusun pada prosedur perencanaan; 2) RPP kata dasar melalui pendekatan individual mengunakan LKPD khusus yang juga berfungsi sebagai media; 3) alat rekam untuk mengumpulkan data kegiatan siswa dan guru dalam proses pembelajaran pelaksanaan tindakan untuk prosedur oobservasi; 4) instrumen tes unjuk kerja yang berisi 20 item. Untuk siklus 1 menghasilkan 6 siswa tuntas dalam pembelajaran dan untuk siklus 3 siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 3 siswa. Pendekatan individual menggunakan LKPD khusus berfungsi sebagai media ini sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca kata dasar bagi siswa kelas rendah dalam suatu kegiatan penelitian tindakan kelas.
