Abstract

The modern world requires a wider perspective in life, one of which is about feminism which is a representation of gender equality, more specifically to fight discrimination against women. This study was used to examine one of children's book entitled, "Si Cantik dan Sang Pemberani " by Atikah Solihah with a qualitative descriptive method. The results show that the book describes of patriarchal cultures such as imposing the role of housewives, subordination of women, and depictions of women who are considered irrational, and toxic masculinity. Then the culture was destructed by the fact that the character, Pongota, which is a woman, managed to play two roles at once, between the feminine world (cooking and weaving) to the masculine world (war and self-defense), then met Sangarlang, a man who respects women and is not afraid of his self-esteem being destroyed just because Pongota is that great.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kajian nilai moral dalam film sebagai media refleksi kehidupan sosial yang masih belum banyak dikaji melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra secara terintegrasi dengan teori moral. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menafsirkan nilai moral tokoh utama dalam film melalui perspektif sosiologi sastra dengan kerangka moral Franz Magnis Suseno. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik simak dan catat terhadap dialog serta adegan yang memuat nilai moral. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan data ke dalam tujuh aspek moral, yaitu kejujuran, menjadi diri sendiri, tanggung jawab, kemandirian moral, keberanian moral, kerendahan hati, dan sikap kritis. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa tokoh utama merepresentasikan moralitas melalui tindakan pengasuhan keluarga, pengambilan keputusan berisiko demi orang lain, kemampuan mempertahankan prinsip, serta refleksi diri yang menunjukkan kedewasaan moral. Nilai tanggung jawab dan keberanian moral muncul sebagai aspek paling dominan karena berkaitan langsung dengan konflik ekonomi, keluarga, dan pekerjaan yang dihadapi tokoh. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa film mampu merepresentasikan moralitas sebagai praktik sosial yang konkret dan relevan dengan realitas kehidupan masyarakat, sehingga pendekatan sosiologi sastra efektif digunakan untuk mengungkap relasi antara karya film dan nilai kehidupan. KATA KUNCI: film; Franz Magnis Suseno; nilai moral; sosiologi sastra; tokoh utama >  MORAL VALUES OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN 1 KAKAK 7 PONAKAN BY YANDY LAURENS   ABSTRACT: This study motivated by the importance of examining moral values in film as a reflection of social life, which has rarely been explored through an integrated sociology of literature approach and moral theory. The purpose of this study is to describe and interpret the moral values of the main character in a film using the sociology of literature approach and Franz Magnis Suseno’s moral framework. The method employed is descriptive qualitative research using observation and note-taking techniques to collect dialogues and scenes containing moral values. The data were analyzed based on seven moral aspects: honesty, authenticity, responsibility, moral independence, moral courage, humility, and critical attitude. The main findings reveal that the main character represents morality through caregiving responsibilities, risk-taking decisions for others, the ability to uphold personal principles, and self-reflection that indicates moral maturity. Responsibility and moral courage appear as the most dominant aspects due to their close relation to economic, family, and professional conflicts faced by the character. The conclusion confirms that film can represent morality as a concrete social practice closely related to real life, and the sociology of literature approach is effective in revealing the relationship between film and social moral values. Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam keterkaitan antara motivasi berprestasi dengan prasangka social yang dialami tokoh utama dalam novel The Last Star karya Intan Muyani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Sumber data berupa novel The Last Star, sedangkan data penelitian berupa kutipan-kutipan yang mengandung aspek motivasi berprestasi dan prasangka social. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Teknik baca dan catat, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan Kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berprestasi tokoh utama terbentuk melalui dua dimensi utama, yaitu, motivasi intrinsic tampak dalam bentuk, tekad, ketekunan, keberanian menghadapi risiko, serta komitmen tinggi terhadap cita-cita. Sementara itu, motivasi ekstrinsik muncul sebagai respons terhadap tekanan sosial berupa prasangka, diskriminasi dan stereotip negative dari lingkungan. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa prasangka social tidak hanya berperan sebagai hambatan psikologis, tetapi juga bertransformasi menjadi faktor pendorong yang memperkuat motivasi berprestasi tokoh utama. Dengan demikian, terdapat hubugan dialektis antara tekanan sosial dan dorongan internal dalam membentuk karakter perjuangan tokoh. KATA KUNCI: motivasi berprestasi; prasangka sosial; psikologi sosial; novel >  ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN THE NOVEL THE LAST STAR BY INTAN MULYANI IN RELATIONSHIP TO SOCIAL PREJUIDE STUDY OF LITERARY PSYCHOLOGICAL   ABSTRACT: This study aims to examine in depth the relationship between achievement motivation and social prejudice experienced by the main character in the novel The Last Star by Intan Muyani. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach. The data source is the novel The Last Star, while the research data are in the form of quotations containing aspects of achievement motivation and social prejudice. The data collection technique was carried out through reading and note-taking techniques, while the data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the main character's achievement motivation is formed through two main dimensions, namely, intrinsic motivation is seen in the form of determination, perseverance, courage to face risks, and a high commitment to ideals. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivation arises as a response to social pressure in the form of prejudice, discrimination and negative stereotypes from the environment. The findings of this study indicate that social prejudice not only acts as a psychological barrier, but also transforms into a driving factor that strengthens the main character's achievement motivation. Thus, there is a dialectical relationship between social pressure and internal drive in shaping the character's struggle. KEYWORDS: achievement motivation; social prejudice; social psychology; novel

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Karya sastra tidak hanya merepresentasikan pengalaman hidup, tetapi juga memuat nilai spiritual yang terbentuk melalui proses batin tokoh. Namun, tanpa pemahaman terhadap proses terbentuknya nilai tersebut, makna spiritual dalam karya sastra berpotensi dipahami secara dangkal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji epistemologi terhadap nilai spiritual tokoh utama dalam novel Ikhlas Penuh Luka karya Boy Candra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian berupa kutipan-kutipan yang merepresentaiskan pengalaman batin tokoh utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai spiritual yang ditemukan meliputi sikap ikhlas, memaafkan, tawakal, dan penerimaan terhadap kehidupan yang terbentuk melalui pengalaman hidup yang dipikirkan dan dimaknai. Secara epistemologis dalam sudut pandang Freire, proses tersebut menunjukkan adanya kesadaran kritis, praxis, dan humanisasi yang memperlihatkan bahwa pemahaman berkembang menjadi tindakan nyata. Dengan demikian, nilai spiritual dalam karya sastra tidak hanya dipahami sebagai hasil, tetapi juga sebagai proses membentukan yang melibatkan pengalaman, pemahaman, dan tindakan tokoh utama. KATA KUNCI: epistemologi; nilai spiritual; novel; sastra >  AN EPISTEMOLOGICAL OF THE SPIRITUAL VALUES OF THE MAIN CHARACTER THE NOVEL IKHLAS PENUH LUKA BY BOY CANDRA   ABSTRACT: Literary works do not only represent life experiences but also contain spiritual values formed through the inner processes of the characters. However, without an understanding of how these values are formed, the spiritual meaning in literary works may be interpreted superficially. This study aims to examine the epistemology of spiritual values of the main character in the novel Ikhlas Penuh Luka by Boy Candra. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data consist of quotations that represent the inner experiences of the main character. The results show that the spiritual values found include sincerity, forgiveness, trust in God (tawakal), and acceptance of life, which are formed through life experiences that are reflected upon and interpreted. From an epistemological perspective based on Freire’s view, this process indicates the presence of critical consciousness, praxis, and humanization, demonstrating that understanding develops into concrete action. Thus, spiritual values in literary works are not only understood as outcomes but also as processes of formation involving experience, understanding, and action of the main character. Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan representasi persahabatan dalam film animasi Jumbo karya Ryan Adriandhy dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif karena data yang dianalisis berupa dialog, adegan, tindakan tokoh, dan peristiwa dalam film. Sumber data utama penelitian ini adalah film animasi Jumbo karya Ryan Adriandhy. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik simak dan catat, yaitu menyimak film secara berulang, mencatat adegan dan dialog yang memuat nilai persahabatan, kemudian mengklasifikasikan data berdasarkan kategori dukungan emosional, sumber kepercayaan, ruang rekreasi, dan pengembangan diri. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif analisis dengan tahapan identifikasi, klasifikasi, interpretasi, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film animasi Jumbo merepresentasikan persahabatan melalui empat bentuk utama, yaitu dukungan emosional sebanyak 9 data, sumber kepercayaan sebanyak 9 data, ruang rekreasi sebanyak 10 data, dan pengembangan diri sebanyak 15 data. Bentuk pengembangan diri menjadi temuan paling dominan karena persahabatan dalam film ini tidak hanya ditampilkan sebagai hubungan kebersamaan, tetapi juga sebagai kekuatan sosial yang mendorong tokoh untuk berani, bertanggung jawab, menyadari kesalahan, dan berubah menjadi lebih baik. Dengan demikian, film animasi Jumbo merepresentasikan persahabatan sebagai nilai sosial yang membentuk karakter dan relasi antarmanusia yang positif. KATA KUNCI: Film animasi; Jumbo; persahabatan; representasi; sosiolog sastra >  A REPRESENTATION OF FRIENDSHIP IN THE ANIMATED FILM JUMBO BY RYAN ADRIANDHY   ABSTRACT: This study aims to describe the representation of friendship in the animated film Jumbo by Ryan Adriandhy using a sociology of literature approach. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method because the analyzed data consist of dialogues, scenes, character actions, and events in the film. The primary data source is the animated film Jumbo by Ryan Adriandhy. The data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques by watching the film repeatedly, recording scenes and dialogues containing friendship values, and classifying the data based on four categories: emotional support, source of trust, recreational space, and self-development. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis through identification, classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the animated film Jumbo represents friendship through four main forms: emotional support with 9 data, source of trust with 9 data, recreational space with 10 data, and self-development with 17 data. Self-development is the most dominant finding because friendship in the film is not only portrayed as togetherness but also as a social force that encourages characters to be courageous, responsible, aware of their mistakes, and willing to change for the better. Therefore, the animated film Jumbo represents friendship as a social value that shapes character and positive human relationships KEYWORDS: Animated film; friendship; Jumbo; representation; sociology of literature
