Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the Indonesian economy, particularly in rural areas. Candiwatu Village in Mojokerto Regency is known as a production center for Black Sticky Rice Tape, a traditional culinary product with high cultural and economic value. However, most MSMEs in this village lack adequate understanding of business legality and the importance of visual identity in marketing their products. This guidebook was developed as a form of assistance focused on increasing legal awareness through copyright registration and strengthening branding through collaborative logo design. Through a participatory approach, this book provides practical and applicable guidance that can be used by MSMEs, students, and village officials to encourage the growth of legal, independent, and competitive local MSMEs. The results of the assistance show that legal protection of intellectual property and strong branding are two complementary aspects in enhancing the position of MSMEs in an increasingly competitive market.

Abstract

Public land services in Indonesia, particularly the issuance of land title certificates, face significant challenges related to efficiency and transparency. To address these issues, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) launched an electronic land certificate program as part of its digital transformation. A community service program (KKN) in Candiwatu Village aimed to increase public understanding of this policy. Through a participatory approach, the outreach program successfully raised public awareness of the benefits of electronic certificates, such as data security, service efficiency, and ease of verification. Despite concerns about digital data security and technological accessibility, community enthusiasm demonstrated a willingness to adapt to the new system. This initiative is expected to be a starting point for the digitalization of land services at the village level and encourage further collaboration between the government and communities.

Abstract

The development of TOGA racks with timer-based automatic watering systems is an innovative solution to increase the productivity of medicinal plants in rural villages. This appropriate technology is designed to address the problems of irregular watering and labor constraints. Through qualitative descriptive methods and a community service approach, this study demonstrates that the automated system can reduce maintenance time by up to 70% while improving plant quality. The implementation of this program not only impacts increased TOGA harvest yields but also creates new income sources for the village treasury through the sale of processed products. With low production costs and operational ease, this technology has the potential to be developed as a village-based creative economy model.

Abstract

Livestock feed problems in rural areas are often faced by farmers, especially in terms of processing forage that requires chopping. In Candiwatu Village, the grass chopping process is still done manually which requires a long time, a lot of energy, and uneven cutting results. This community service activity aims to apply appropriate technology in the form of a simple grass chopper based on an iron barrel and dynamo. This innovation is designed to be easy to use, energy efficient, and efficient in its use by local farmers. The method of implementing activities includes a needs survey, tool design, training in use, and evaluation of results in the field. The implementation results show that this tool is able to speed up the grass chopping process up to three times compared to traditional methods, as well as reduce farmer fatigue and increase work time efficiency. This activity also encourages the community's spirit of mutual cooperation and serves as an example of the effective application of simple technology to support the productivity of village farms.

Abstract

Parenting is a parenting pattern for children. Parenting comes from two words, namely first, the word “pattern” and second the word “care”. Parenting can be interpreted as a system, way of working or form in an effort to maintain, care for, educate and guide children so that they can stand alone. In addition, parenting can be interpreted as the interaction between children and parents during parenting activites. Character is interpreted as a way of thinking and behaving that is typical of each individual to live and work together, both within the scope of the family, society, nation and state. Individuals with good character are individuals who can make decisions and are ready to be responsible for every consequence of their decisions. Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the furniture industry, particularly "Sumber Rezeki" furniture SMEs in Candiwatu Village, face significant challenges in managing wood sawdust waste, which often accumulates without proper utilization. This community service project introduces an innovative biomass briquette pressing machine made from locally available materials to convert sawdust waste into valuable fuel briquettes. Developed through participatory action research methodology, the machine demonstrates remarkable efficiency in waste reduction by converting 95% of sawdust waste into usable briquettes. Field testing shows the machine can produce 50 briquettes per hour with consistent quality and 4,500 kcal/kg heating value. The technology supports sustainable waste management while creating additional income streams for furniture SMEs, reducing environmental impact and promoting circular economy principles.

Abstract

Candiwatu Village has significant potential for coconut plantations, but the coconut husk waste produced so far has not been optimally utilized. The accumulation of waste often causes environmental problems, even though coconut husks have high lignin and cellulose content, making them suitable for processing into economically valuable organic liquid fertilizer. This community service activity aims to empower residents through education and hands-on practice in processing coconut husk waste into organic liquid fertilizer. The implementation method involves preparation, execution, and evaluation stages using a service-learning approach. The target audience includes women's study groups, members of coconut-processing SMEs, and the Youth Association. The results of the activity showed high community participation, with an attendance rate of 92% and an understanding of fermentation techniques at 88%. On average, each household successfully processed approximately 3 kg of coconut husks into 5 liters of liquid fertilizer over a 14-day fermentation period. The use of organic liquid fertilizer in home gardens had a positive impact, with an average increase in plant growth of 15%. This program not only reduces organic waste but also encourages the formation of community workgroups committed to continuing fertilizer production independently. This activity is expected to serve as a model for sustainable community empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

The small-scale chip (keripik) entrepreneurs in Candiwatu Village, Pacet District, continue to face challenges related to business legality, branding, and digital marketing. This community service program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of these micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through assistance in obtaining Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and Home Industry Food Permits (PIRT), product branding training, and the use of social media and e-commerce for digital marketing. The implementation method adopts a participatory approach through observation, training, and intensive mentoring. The results indicate a significant improvement in the partners' understanding and business practices, such as the appearance of product labels, creation of digital business accounts, and active efforts in online product promotion. This program demonstrates that a digital-based empowerment strategy can effectively build MSME competitiveness in the era of digital transformation.
