Abstract

The rapid development of technology, information and communication has given rise to various kinds of social media. These developments also had an impact on libraries. Libraries must be able to adapt to using various social media as a means of promotion, one of which is Instagram. This study aims to find out how Instagram is used as a promotional medium for the Library of Sari Mutiara Indonesia University by using several AIDA elements (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action). The research method used is descriptive qualitative, using interview techniques with 7 informants. The results showed that the use of the Instagram social media application was considered quite effective as a media promotion for the library, this is because the Instagram application can reach a wide audience, the library is also good at displaying content on Instagram using the same theme for several uploads, but it is necessary consistency of the library to continue and schedule the time to post content

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the user education program at the Postgraduate Library of the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra, including user education materials, methods used, challenges and obstacles. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with interview techniques with 2 informants, namely librarians. The results showed that the user education program at the Postgraduate Library of the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra was carried out online and ran quite well, there were several supporting and inhibiting factors. Factors that hinder the program are difficult schedule determination, network constraints at student locations, and there is no written policy or guidebook about the program

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the use of the iPusnas application as a reference source for final students of the Library and Information Science Study Program, Sari Mutiara University, Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative, with observation data collection techniques, interviews, and literature studies. The informants are 10 people. The results of the study show that the use of the iPusnas application as a reference source for final students is quite optimal and can meet the information needs of its users with features that facilitate and the availability of quite diverse collections about various scientific fields.
