Abstract

 Background: The process of internalizing English mostly occurs in the school environment and the teacher acts as a facilitator. The teacher has a big role in the process of internalizing English. Teachers as educators have a role in providing information and media in learning English. Besides that, the teacher's sensitivity in learning and gathering information about English is a major factor. Teachers must be able to increase their sensitivity to English in motivating and providing excellent educational services. In learning activities, the teacher has an important role in making the knowledge and information conveyed acceptable to existing students. The result of this activity is an increase in teacher sensitivity about English related to independent curriculum learning. Increasing the teacher's sensitivity in English will significantly affect the process of learning English at the elementary school level. This increases students' interest and motivation in learning English.

Abstract

 Background: Literacy is an ability that is really needed by a person. Literacy is the basis for a person to develop their abilities, apart from that, in terms of receiving new information, literacy has a major role. This makes the government promote literacy improvement programs from an early age. In particular, the implementation of literacy programs is often found at the elementary and middle school levels. Apart from that, equal distribution of literacy skills in Indonesia is also very important in improving human resources in this country. This is proven when the literacy skills between students who attend schools located in big cities and the literacy skills of students who go to schools in fairly underdeveloped areas have quite significant differences, therefore there is a need for programs which can reach the average Indonesian community. in terms of increasing literacy for future generations.   Methodology: The target of this activity is students at SD Negeri 4 Juworo. The stages of implementing the activity include observation and discussion with teachers at SD Negeri 4 Juworo. Observations are carried out to identify the condition of partners implementing activities and selecting programs for implementing activities. The observation results show that the literacy skills of SD Negeri 4 Juworo students are still low. So, the An Nuur University service team implemented the use of the vocabulary in the clouds strategy in the classroom when literacy learning was carried out. The form of implementation of this strategy is in the form of games that involve the students actively in the classroom.   Results: After the coloring competition activity, fine motoric development in preschool children increased.   Conclusion: Parents' knowledge about fine motor development increases, children can carry out tasks well, children's willingness to color contributes to fine motor development in preschool children.

Abstract

This study explores EFL preservice teachers' perspectives on reciting the Qur'an with English translation as a strategy to strengthen discipline and English proficiency. Descriptive mixed methods was employed at the English Education Department of UMNU Kebumen, involving 47 preservice teachers from second and fourth semesters. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation over one semester. The findings revealed that students held highly positive perspectives, perceiving the practice as an educational consequence rather than punishment. The activity effectively reduced tardiness frequency, enhanced students' awareness of punctuality, and facilitated internalization of discipline as personal value. Regarding language development, students reported perceived improvements in vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation skills, and recognition of Islamic-English lexical equivalents. The integration of religious values made English learning more meaningful and identity-relevant. All interviewed students expressed intention to implement similar approaches in their future teaching careers with contextual adaptations. This study contributes to the theoretical frameworks of Liberating Discipline Pedagogy, Sociocultural Theory, and CLIL in Pre-Service Teacher Education by demonstrating how religious texts can function as mediational tools for simultaneous behavioral regulation and perceived language development. The findings offer practical implications for English teachers and curriculum developers in Islamic educational contexts.
