Abstract

This study aims to determine public perceptions of sports activities carried out on campus. The perceptions in question include the views of students, lecturers, campus staff, and the surrounding community on the benefits, impacts, and implementation of sports activities. The method used in this study was a descriptive survey ‘with an instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to respondents from various backgrounds. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents had a positive perception of campus sports activities, especially in terms of health, character building, and increasing social interaction. However, several critical notes were also found regarding uneven facilities and noise disturbances felt by some of the surrounding community. . These findings are expected to be input for the campus to improve the quality and management of sports activities to be more inclusive and have a positive impact overall

Abstract

This research aims to develop variations of resistance band training models to improve the speed of jab-straight punches in Muay Thai athletes in Gorontalo Province. This study uses the research and development method. The sample in this study consisted of 5 female Muay Thai athletes from Gorontalo Province. The research instruments used equipment such as a punching bag and stopwatch to measure rapid punches performed for 30 seconds. The results of the study show that the developed resistance band training model falls into the very valid category based on validation by material and media experts. The implementation of the training model shows an increase in the speed of jab-straight punches in athletes after participating in the training program. Thus, the developed resistance band training model is declared valid and effective as an alternative exercise to improve the speed of jab-straight punches in Muay Thai athletes in Gorontalo Province.
