Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic educational philosophy in building the character education of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Ajibarang Wetan. The background of this research arises from the growing need to strengthen character education in elementary schools amid increasingly complex moral and social challenges. Islamic educational philosophy is considered relevant because it emphasizes a balance between intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development rooted in the values of tawhid (divine unity), adab (ethics), and human responsibility as khalifah (steward) on earth. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers, the principal, and students, as well as document analysis. The findings reveal that Islamic educational values have been effectively integrated into learning activities, school culture, and religious practices. Teachers implement the principles of ta’dib (moral education), uswah hasanah (exemplary conduct), and muhasabah (self-reflection) to shape students’ character. These practices have resulted in positive behavioral changes such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social care. However, the study also found that teachers’ understanding of the philosophical foundations of Islamic education varies, indicating the need for further professional development to strengthen conceptual and reflective competence. The implications of this study highlight the importance of systematically integrating Islamic educational philosophy within the Merdeka Curriculum to develop students who are morally upright, religiously aware, and intellectually balanced.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools often does not provide adequate opportunities for developing 21st-century competencies, including entrepreneurial skills that require creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. A similar condition was found at SD Negeri 1 Ajibarang Wetan, where instruction remains teacher-centered and has not fully utilized project-based learning that integrates scientific processes with entrepreneurial character formation. This study aims to describe the implementation of project-based science learning through the Inquiry approach and the STAD cooperative model, as well as to explore its contribution to developing students’ entrepreneurial competencies. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of project products and field notes. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that embedding Inquiry within project activities encourages students to develop curiosity, question formulation skills, critical thinking, and creativity in producing scientific products. The use of the STAD model within heterogeneous teams strengthens students’ communication, collaboration, responsibility, and collective problem-solving. The study reveals that project-based science learning that integrates Inquiry and STAD effectively fosters entrepreneurial competencies such as creativity, innovation, initiative, risk-taking, and teamwork. The implications highlight the necessity for elementary schools to broaden the implementation of Inquiry-oriented and cooperative project-based learning to promote entrepreneurial character formation from an early age.

Abstract

Anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) di sekolah dasar masih menghadapi tantangan besar dalam aspek sosial, seperti kesulitan berkomunikasi, menarik diri dari lingkungan, dan kurang mampu bekerja sama dengan teman sebaya. Kondisi ini juga ditemukan di SD Negeri 1 Ajibarang Wetan, di mana sebagian siswa ABK menunjukkan hambatan dalam berinteraksi dengan teman sekelas. Masalah tersebut perlunya layanan pembelajaran yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada akademik, tetapi juga mendukung pengembangan kemampuan sosial anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bentuk layanan pembelajaran yang diterapkan di SD Negeri 1 Ajibarang Wetan dalam mendukung kemampuan sosial ABK, sekaligus menganalisis faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang memengaruhi keberhasilan layanan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model Miles & Huberman, melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan triangulasi sumber untuk menjaga validitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan pembelajaran di sekolah ini dilakukan melalui strategi inklusif, seperti kerja kelompok, permainan edukatif, dan pendampingan individual. Aktivitas tersebut membantu ABK lebih percaya diri, mampu berkomunikasi dengan teman sebaya, serta belajar menghargai aturan sosial. Faktor pendukung utama adalah komitmen guru, penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka, dan dukungan orang tua, sedangkan faktor penghambat meliputi keterbatasan sarana prasarana, jumlah guru pendamping yang minim, serta rendahnya kesadaran sebagian siswa terhadap keberagaman. Dari sinilah, layanan pembelajaran inklusif di SD Negeri 1 Ajibarang Wetan berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan sosial ABK, meskipun masih menghadapi keterbatasan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan dukungan sistemik, pelatihan guru, serta penyediaan fasilitas yang memadai agar layanan pembelajaran dapat berjalan lebih optimal dan berkelanjutan, sehingga ABK mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan sosial dan mengembangkan kemandirian di masa depan.
