Abstract

Accounting learning in high schools is often perceived as boring and difficult by many students. At SMAN 6 Cimahi, the learning model employed involves teacher lectures, instructions to complete student worksheets (LKS), and individual interactive computer games. While this method has its advantages, there is a need for a more innovative and collaborative approach. This PKM examines the implementation of the CoA Quartet method, a game-based learning approach that promotes teamwork and healthy competition, in an effort to enhance student engagement, understanding, and social skills. The CoA Quartet consists of various activities that encourage student collaboration to solve accounting tasks in an interactive and enjoyable way. An evaluation was conducted through questionnaires filled out by 180 students after the CoA Quartet was implemented. Data analysis using the Chi-square test showed that this method had a significant impact on student engagement, increasing their interest and understanding in accounting learning. The results of this study support the application of CoA Quartet as an effective method in high school accounting education. The PKM also provides recommendations for implementing similar methods in other schools to improve the quality of accounting education.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance students' understanding of the Chart of Accounts (CoA) through educational innovation using CoA Quartet learning media and Easy CoA. SMK Bhakti Nusantara Cileunyi, located in Bandung Regency, West Java, is an educational institution offering an Accounting and Financial Institution program. Despite being equipped with various facilities and professional educators, students still face challenges in grasping basic accounting concepts, particularly the CoA. This is attributed to conventional teaching methods that are less interactive and fail to create engaging and inspiring learning experiences. To address these issues, we propose the use of CoA Quartet, an enjoyable educational card game, and Easy CoA, a technology-based application that helps students understand CoA more practically and comprehensively. The conclusion from the use of COA Quartet and Easy COA as learning media has proven effective in enhancing the understanding of SMK Bhakti Nusantara 666 Cileunyi students regarding the Chart of Accounts (CoA) material. This is evidenced by a significant increase in average scores and a significant decrease in score variation among students. This learning media is very good to be included in regular learning.

Abstract

Tax knowledge plays an important role in shaping the career interests of accounting students in pursuing a career in the field of taxation. This study aims to evaluate the extent to which tax knowledge influences the career interests of accounting students at the International Logistics and Business University in choosing a career in taxation. The research method used is quantitative with an associative approach, utilizing primary data. The analysis techniques used include validity tests, reliability tests, correlation coefficient tests, simple regression analysis, determination coefficient tests, and t-tests. The results of the study indicate that tax knowledge significantly influences students' interest in pursuing a career in taxation. The validity test shows valid results, while the reliability test confirms that the data used is reliable. The correlation test results demonstrate a strong relationship between tax knowledge (variable X) and career interest (variable Y). The simple regression analysis shows that variable X has a positive impact on variable Y, with a determination coefficient of 49.4%. This means that nearly half of the students' interest in pursuing a career in taxation is influenced by their knowledge of taxation, while the remaining portion is influenced by other factors. The t-test reveals a significance value of less than 0.05, indicating that there is a significant influence between tax knowledge and the career interest of accounting students in the field of taxation.
