Abstract

The foundation of education in the Qur’an emphasizes that the entire learning process must be based on tawhid guiding humans to recognize and serve Allah SWT. Education encompasses the integrated development of spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social aspects to produce knowledgeable individuals with noble character. Humans are regarded as the primary subjects of education, serving both as Allah’s servants and as stewards (khalifah) on earth. This study employs a library research method, an approach that examines various written sources such as the Qur’an, tafsir, scholarly books, journals, and other relevant academic works. The results indicate that education in the Qur’an is comprehensive, covering spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, and practical dimensions, all grounded in tawhid. Its purpose is to cultivate individuals who are faithful, virtuous, knowledgeable, and socially responsible as stewards of the earth. Beneficial knowledge, proper manners in seeking it, and a wise learning process are key to achieving holistic education.

Abstract

Islamic Cultural History is one of the core subjects in Islamic educational institutions. Its materials cover the origins of events, figures, places, culture, Islamic law, and the development of knowledge. This subject provides valuable lessons (ʿibrah) for students to deepen their moral and intellectual understanding. However, due to its broad and complex scope, many students experience learning difficulties during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause students’ learning difficulties and to identify appropriate solutions in teaching Islamic Cultural History at Muhammadiyah 2 Private Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic Junior High School) in Banjarmasin. The research employed field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process consisted of three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that learning difficulties are caused by low motivation, poor behavior, lack of preparation, drowsiness, and weak physical condition. Teachers addressed these issues by creating an enjoyable learning environment, using simple and clear language, providing remedial sessions, repeating core materials, and involving parents in behavioral guidance. These strategies are expected to increase students’ motivation, participation, and comprehension in learning Islamic Cultural History.

Abstract

Abstract The humanitarian crisis in Palestine, ongoing since the Gaza blockade in 2007, constitutes a multidimensional challenge encompassing social, economic, psychological, and humanitarian dimensions. Prolonged armed conflict, structural violence, and limited international intervention have exacerbated civilian suffering, particularly among women and children. Within this context, Islamic teachings, especially Prophetic hadith offer an ethical foundation for social solidarity and humanitarian responsibility. Nevertheless, contemporary applications of hadith in humanitarian discourse often remain normative and literal, lacking contextual analytical depth. This study employs a qualitative methodology using a hermeneutical tahlili approach to hadith analysis. The primary source is the hadith “Al-Muslimu akhu al-Muslim” as recorded in Sahih Muslim, analyzed through sanad authentication, matan examination, and contextual interpretation based on classical and contemporary scholarship. Secondary sources include academic journals, humanitarian reports, and interdisciplinary studies on social solidarity and the Palestinian crisis. The findings demonstrate that the hadith articulates comprehensive ethical imperatives, including the prohibition of oppression, neglect, and humiliation, alongside the obligation of active solidarity. The study concludes that the tahlili hadith approach provides a contextualized ethical paradigm capable of guiding concrete humanitarian engagement and strengthening Islamic social responsibility in responding to the Palestinian humanitarian crisis.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in ethnic and cultural diversity, with each local culture representing a collection of knowledge, values, norms, and shared practices. Among these, the Banjar culture in South Kalimantan exemplifies a long history of acculturation influenced by indigenous beliefs, Hindu-Buddhist traditions, and Islam. One notable example is the Balampah tradition, a ritual practice originally rooted in local and Hindu-Buddhist beliefs, which has been transformed through Islamic teachings while maintaining its cultural identity. This study aims to analyze the acculturation process in Banjar culture, focusing on Balampah, and to explore how Islamic values influence its transformation. The research employs a library research approach, reviewing books, scholarly articles, historical manuscripts, and documents on Banjar culture, ritual practices, and religious integration. Findings indicate that Balampah functions as a form of spiritual retreat, combining ascetic practices, prayers, and ritual activities aimed at personal purification, protection, and social well-being. The tradition embodies key Islamic educational values, including tauhid (monotheism), tazkiyatun nafs (self-purification), moral and ethical development, and social responsibility. The study demonstrates that Balampah exemplifies a dynamic process of cultural adaptation where local traditions harmonize with Islamic teachings, preserving both religious and cultural identities in contemporary Banjar society.
