Abstract

Foundations are a crucial element in the construction process, functioning to transfer and distribute loads from the superstructure to the underlying soil. The purpose of this study is to compare the bearing capacity values of bored pile foundations obtained from SPT tests using the Reese and Wright method with those from PDA tests. Calculations based on the SPT results were used to determine the bearing capacity from soil parameter data and the loading test method, which is classified as a static method. Meanwhile, the dynamic method using the Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) was conducted to obtain the foundation’s bearing capacity. Bearing capacity is a critical factor, as it relates to considerations of structural safety, soil characteristics, applied loads, and environmental changes. The analysis method employed in this study was descriptive analysis, used to assess the characteristics of the data. The research was conducted on the bored pile foundations of the Flyover Bridge located on Kopo Street, Bandung. The calculation results showed that the end bearing capacity (Qp) of bored piles with a diameter of 1.2 m and a length of 24 m at Abutment 2 was 486.53 tons based on SPT results, while the PDA test yielded 125.00 tons. The shaft resistance (Qs) of the bored piles obtained from the SPT results was 603.66 tons, whereas the PDA test yielded 719.00 tons. The analytical calculation of the elastic settlement of the bored pile was 50.61 mm.
