Abstract

Bullying among junior high school students remains a significant issue that disrupts adolescents’ social and emotional development. This study employed a qualitative narrative design to explore the forms, causes, and impacts of bullying among seventh-grade students at SMPK St. Theresia Kupang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving ten students and one guidance and counseling teacher. The findings reveal that verbal and social bullying are most prevalent, driven by peer pressure and the need for social recognition; while victims experience emotional stress, decreased learning motivation, and impaired social relationships. The study recommends empathy-based prevention strategies and the integration of religious character values into the curriculum. This research contributes to strengthening school intervention models to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.ABSTRAKFenomena bullying di kalangan siswa SMP masih menjadi tantangan serius yang menghambat perkembangan sosial-emosional remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain naratif untuk menggali bentuk, faktor penyebab, dan dampak perilaku bullying pada siswa kelas VII di SMPK St. Theresia Kupang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi dengan lima siswa serta seorang guru BK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dominasi bullying verbal dan sosial yang dipengaruhi oleh teman sebaya dan kebutuhan akan pengakuan; sementara korban mengalami stres emosional, penurunan motivasi belajar, dan gangguan relasi sosial. Rekomendasi penelitian menekankan perlunya strategi pencegahan berbasis empati serta integrasi nilai karakter religius dalam kurikulum. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada penguatan model intervensi sekolah untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang aman dan inklusif.
