Abstract

The manufacturing industry still relies heavily on manual labor to take advantage of human flexibility. As work-related injuries increase, the importance of ergonomics in engineering is becoming more recognized. However, in small and medium-scale manufacturing, the application of ergonomics has not yet received sufficient attention. The aim of this study is to review literature on the application of ergonomics in work system design, identify common approaches, analyze the impact of ergonomics, and provide recommendations for more effective implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review of Google Scholar-indexed articles was used. The analysis concludes that ergonomics application in manufacturing is growing, with a predominant use of quantitative methods. Additionally, integrating physical, cognitive, and organizational ergonomics has positively impacted innovation and job satisfaction. Based on these findings, future research should focus on developing integrated ergonomic interventions, long-term studies, and economic analyses to improve ergonomics implementation.

Abstract

This study examines gender role division within families of digital tourism actors in Bira and the factors influencing it. Bira, a leading tourist village in Bulukumba Regency, is undergoing a transformation into a digital village with technology applied in marketing, reservations, and payment systems. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using purposive sampling of eight informants directly involved in family-based digital tourism businesses. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document review, and analyzed using Miles & Huberman’s interactive model. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that gender roles in these families are dynamic, flexible, and adaptive. Women perform dual roles, managing domestic responsibilities while actively participating in digital tourism business operations and strategic family decision-making. Men act as supporters when circumstances allow, creating a complementary and collaborative gender relationship. Factors influencing role division include mutual agreement, family economic conditions, minimal cultural constraints, and the use of digital technology. These findings highlight that tourism digitalization facilitates the transformation of gender roles and fosters inclusive and adaptive gender relations within digital tourism families.

Abstract

Exploring the shifting function of the Leang-Leang Archaeological Park in Maros in the digital era has become an interesting phenomenon. Leang-Leang Archaeological Park is a prehistoric heritage site that holds significant educational and historical value in Indonesia. However, the development of social media in the digital era has influenced the way visitors utilize this cultural space, particularly as a location for visual content production. This study aims to analyze the transformation of the Leang-Leang Archaeological Park from an educational space into a digital content production space and to understand the influence of social media on visitor behavior. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations, visual documentation, and semi-structured interviews with visitors and park managers. The findings indicate that most visitors are more interested in the visual and aesthetic aspects of the site than in its educational value. Museum areas and information panels tend to receive less attention, while visually attractive spots are more frequently used for photography and social media content creation. This phenomenon reflects a shift in the meaning of cultural spaces due to the growth of digital culture and the need for self-representation on social media. This study emphasizes the importance of management strategies that integrate educational approaches with digital technology in order to preserve the historical function and cultural value of the Leang-Leang Archaeological Park in the digital era.
