Abstract

Final-year university students are in the early adulthood phase, facing developmental tasks such as establishing independence, pursuing careers, and preparing to enter the workforce. Challenges like high unemployment rates, skills mismatch with labor market demands, and intense competition are associated with their work readiness. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and metacognitive awareness with work readiness among final-year students in Bandar Lampung. The research method uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The research involved 167 participants from various study programs in Malahayati University, selected through convenience sampling. Results indicate that most subjects demonstrated moderate work readiness levels. Data analysis revealed: (3) collectively, self-efficacy and metacognitive awareness showed significant relationship with work readiness; (2) a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and work readiness; and (3) no significant relationship between metacognitive awareness and work readiness. These findings suggest that self-efficacy serves as a key factor in work readiness, while metacognitive awareness provides supplementary support despite lacking independent influence. Abstract

Kecanduan internet telah menjadi fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan di kalangan mahasiswa, terutama didorong oleh kemudahan akses dan pergeseran aktivitas ke dunia daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara kontrol diri dan kesepian dengan kecanduan internet pada mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan melibatkan 164 mahasiswa Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Malahayati yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tiga skala: Internet Addiction Test (IAT), Self-Control Scale (SCS), dan Skala Kesepian yang dimodifikasi dari aspek Bruno (2000).  Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan, kontrol diri dan kesepian berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kecanduan internet dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 39,7%. Secara parsial, kontrol diri memiliki hubungan negatif yang signifikan, sementara kesepian memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan kecanduan internet. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin rendah kontrol diri dan semakin tinggi tingkat kesepian, maka semakin tinggi tingkat kecanduan internet pada mahasiswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar untuk pengembangan intervensi guna mengurangi kecanduan internet dengan cara meningkatkan kontrol diri dan menurunkan rasa kesepian.*

Abstract

Thesis anxiety is a psychological condition characterized by excessive worry, nervousness, and fear when facing a final assignment. This study aims to determine the effect of peer social support and academic resilience on academic anxiety in final-year students when writing their theses. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The subjects were final-year students at Malahayati University, Bandar Lampung, selected using a quota sampling technique. The research instruments included an academic anxiety scale, a peer social support scale, and an academic resilience scale. The results showed that simultaneously, peer social support and academic resilience significantly influenced academic anxiety, with an effective contribution of 87.6%. Partially, peer social support and academic resilience both had a significant influence on academic anxiety. Academic resilience was the most dominant factor in reducing anxiety in final-year students. These findings confirm that the combination of social support and academic resilience plays a crucial role in helping students cope with the pressures of thesis writing.
