Abstract

This traditional game of gobak sodor was played as an effort to improve the gross motor skills of Group B children at Cempaka Glantangan Kindergarten in Tempurejo District, Jember Regency, as well as to introduce traditional games that are rarely played by children nowadays. This study was conducted using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The subjects of this study were the students of Group B at TK Cempaka Glantangan in Tempurejo District, Jember Regency, consisting of 15 children, including 4 boys and 11 girls. The initial research results conducted in the pre-cycle stage showed a lack of gross motor skills in children, with a percentage of 33.33% or falling into the “Beginning to Develop” (MB) category. The research results conducted in Cycle I obtained a percentage of 53.33% and were still in the “Beginning to Develop” (MB) category. Meanwhile, the results of the research in Cycle II showed an improvement in the children's gross motor skills by 86.66%, which falls into the “Developing as Expected” (DE) category. From these research results, it can be concluded that playing the traditional game of gobak sodor can improve the gross motor skills of Group B children at TK Cempaka Glantangan in Tempurejo District, Jember Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the gross motor skills of early childhood children through the traditional game activity Dengklek. The researcher used classroom action research (PTK) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation. The research was conducted at TK J – A RUMMI Jatisari, Jenggawah, Jember, involving 28 students in group B.Data collection techniques used were observation results and documentation. The results of the study showed that in the pre-cycle, 8 children (28.5%) achieved the expected level of development. In cycle 1, 13 students (46.4%) reached the target, and in cycle 2, there was an increase to 23 students (82.1%).It can thus be concluded that the Dengklek traditional game activity can improve the gross motor skills of early childhood children, as evidenced by the results of the research conducted at TK J – A RUMMI Jatisari, Jenggawah, Jember.

Abstract

This research aims to improve children's ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters, which are an important foundation in learning to read the Qur'an. Many early childhood children still experience difficulties in differentiating the form, pronouncing, and mentioning Hijaiyah letters because the learning provided has not fully matched their developmental characteristics. The ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters is the first step in the child's religious process. The introduction of Hijaiyah letters not only trains the child's language skills, but also instills spiritual values from an early age. However, in reality, there are still many early childhood children, especially in RA institutions, who have difficulty recognizing the shapes and sounds of Hijaiyah letters. This can be seen from the initial observations made at RA Nurul Iman, which showed that there were 10 children out of 15 children in group A, aged 5 years, who were unable to differentiate some Hijaiyah letters that have similar shapes, such as   ب (ba), ت (ta), and ث (tsa)  ج ح خ،د  and other similar letters. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method in one cycle, involving 15 children as research subjects.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the independence of children aged 2–4 years through the implementation of an Eco Park–based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model at PAUD Tarbiyatus Sibyan. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 10 children. Data were collected through observation sheets, anecdotal records, and documentation. The indicators of independence included self-care skills, ability to choose activities, task completion, responsibility for tools and the environment, and self-confidence in participating in project activities.The results showed a gradual improvement in children’s independence. In the pre-cycle stage, only 20% of the children reached the “Developing as Expected” level. After the implementation of actions in Cycle I, this increased to 50%. By the end of Cycle II, 80% of the children had reached the “Developing as Expected” and “Very Well Developed” categories. The children demonstrated positive changes, including increased self-confidence, greater ability to initiate and complete activities independently, and stronger responsibility toward the Eco Park environment.Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Eco Park–based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in improving the independence of children aged 2–4 years and in creating more active, meaningful, and enjoyable learning experiences at PAUD Tarbiyatus Sibyan.

Abstract

Speaking skills are a fundamental ability in early childhood language development, as they form the foundation for communication, social interaction, and readiness for learning at the next educational level. Initial observations at TK Nurun Najah Kajarharjo indicated that children’s Indonesian speaking skills had not developed optimally. The children tended to be passive, lacked self-confidence, had limited vocabulary, and experienced difficulties in expressing ideas and retelling stories coherently. This study employed a Classroom Action Research design conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 20 kindergarten students at TK Nurun Najah Kajarharjo. Data were collected through observation of speaking activities, performance-based assessments, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches to examine changes in the learning process and improvements in children’s learning outcomes. The results showed that the implementation of IFP storytelling had a positive impact on the quality of learning and students’ speaking development. In Cycle I, children began to show interest and initial confidence in speaking; however, their utterances were still dominated by one- or two-word responses and relied heavily on teacher guidance. In Cycle II, after the learning activities were modified to be more interactive and child-centered, a significant improvement was observed. Quantitatively, most children reached the categories of developing as expected and very well developed. Qualitatively, the learning outcomes revealed improvements in children’s ability to construct simple sentences, increased fluency and clarity of pronunciation, expanded vocabulary, and more coherent retelling skills. The children also demonstrated greater initiative in speaking, increased confidence in performing, and improved quality of verbal interaction in the classroom. Therefore, it can be concluded that digital IFP storytelling is effective in enhancing young children’s Indonesian speaking skills while also improving the overall quality of the learning process.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of extracurricular activities based on local wisdom through Gandrung dance on the gross motor skills of children aged 5–6 years at TK Alifia in the 2025–2026 academic year. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 15 children aged 5–6 years selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through structured observation sheets covering indicators of movement coordination, balance, agility, and large muscle strength. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the mean score of children’s gross motor skills increased from 54.20 in the pretest to 77.60 in the posttest. The t-test analysis revealed a significance value of p < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference in children’s gross motor skills before and after participating in the Gandrung dance extracurricular activities. It can be concluded that extracurricular activities based on local wisdom through Gandrung dance have a positive and significant effect on the gross motor skills of children aged 5–6 years. This study suggests that traditional dance activities can be effectively integrated into early childhood education programs to support gross motor development.

Abstract

Research entitled “The Effect of the Read Aloud Method Through Picture Stories on Improving Vocabulary Acquisition in Group A Students at Darrul Muttaqin Islamic Kindergarten.” This study aims to describe the effect of the read aloud method through picture stories on improving vocabulary building skills in group A students at Darrul Muttaqin Islamic Kindergarten. The problem to be studied is how the read aloud method activity through picture stories can influence the improvement of vocabulary building skills in group A students? The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the read aloud method activity through picture stories on improving vocabulary building skills in group A students. The method used is a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design and using a paired sample T-test, this study analyzed the data obtained from the pre-test and post-test of the ability to increase vocabulary in group A students before and after participating in the read aloud method activity through picture stories. Based on the research and data analysis conducted by Darrul Muttaqin Islamic Kindergarten, it can be concluded that: There is a significant difference between children's vocabulary development before and after implementing the read-aloud method. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, thus H₁ was accepted. The read-aloud method significantly influenced the vocabulary development of Group A students at Darrul Muttaqin Islamic Kindergarten.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of finger painting activities on the creativity of group B children at TK D harma Wanita 4 Mojoduwur. The background of this research is the low creativity of children, especiallyin expressing ideas, using colors, and imagination during learning activities. This study uses aquantitative approach with a pre experimental design in the form of a one group pretest-posttest design. the subjek of study weregroup B children at TK Dharm Wanita 4 Mojoduwur. Data colection techniques were carried out througt observasion and children’s creativity increased after the implementasion of finger painting activities. This can be seen from the comparation of pretest and posttest scores, where the posttset result are higher than the pretest. Thus, finger painting activities have a positiv effect on increassing the activity of group B children at TK Dharma Wanita 4 Mojoduwur.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penerapan pembelajaran berbasis STEAM dengan media loose parts berbahan alam dalam meningkatkan kreativitas anak usia dini. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 16 anak kelompok B TK Nurul Hidayah Kajarharjo pada semester ganjil tahun 2025. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi, dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi terstruktur dan dokumentasi visual. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif deskriptif dan kuantitatif sederhana menggunakan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas anak meningkat secara signifikan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, 56,25 persen anak berada pada kategori berkembang sesuai harapan dan 43,75 persen pada kategori mulai berkembang. Pada siklus II, 81,25 persen anak mencapai kategori berkembang sangat baik dan 18,75 persen berkembang sesuai harapan. Penerapan pembelajaran berbasis STEAM dengan media loose parts berbahan alam terbukti mampu meningkatkan kreativitas, keaktifan, dan keterlibatan anak dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran ini efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran yang kontekstual, fleksibel, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan anak usia dini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan creative thinking anak usia 4–5 tahun melalui penggunaan media loose parts di TK Nurun Najah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yang masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 16 anak usia 4–5 tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi kemampuan creative thinking yang meliputi indikator fluency, flexibility, originality, dan elaboration. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media loose parts dapat meningkatkan kemampuan creative thinking anak. Pada kondisi awal, sebagian besar anak berada pada kategori Belum Berkembang dan Mulai Berkembang. Pada siklus I, terjadi peningkatan dengan 4 anak (25%) mencapai kategori Berkembang Sangat Baik. Pada siklus II, peningkatan terjadi secara signifikan dengan 13 anak (81,25%) mencapai kategori Berkembang Sangat Baik. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan telah tercapai. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media loose parts efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan creative thinking anak usia 4–5 tahun di TK Nurun Najah.
