Abstract

Introduction. This study explores developing a GLAM-based Special Collection at UM to preserve the history of UM and Malang. This research question is (1) how can the GLAM framework be applied effectively to the development of UM Special Collection (2) challenges and obstacles in the implementation process. Complementing GLAM studies in national and regional libraries, this research applies it to academic libraries. Research Methods. Using R&D and qualitative descriptive methods, the studies followed four stages: needs analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through FGDs, observations, and interviews with retired librarians. Data Analysis. The needs analysis data were qualitatively analyzed for planning and implementation. Interview results were thematically analyzed to support collection organization and exhibition text development, while FGDs were used to evaluate progress and refine the final presentation of the collection. Results. The findings indicate that the GLAM framework effectively curateshistorical collections in academic settings, supported by the use of digital technology to develop digital galleries and organize collections. Conclusion. This study concludes that GLAM principles can be applied in academic libraries to enhance the visibility and sustainability of historical collections. At the same time future research may explore the impact of Special Collections.

Abstract

Sebagai pusat sumber informasi di lingkungan UM, UPT Perpustakaan UM mengidentifikasi bahwa kegiatan pembinaan literasi informasi yang telah terlaksana belum sepenuhnya efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi literasi informasi sivitas akademika. Hal tersebut melatarbelakangi dikembangkannya program KelasiUM berdasarkan model literasi informasi The Big6 dan lima standar literasi informasi ACRL. Model penelitian dan pengembangan Borg & Gall yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dimodifikasi dengan tahapan (1) pengumpulan informasi awal, (2) perencanaan program, (3) pengembangan format program awal, (4) uji ahli dan praktisi, (5) revisi program, dan (6) program siap diimplementasikan. Materi yang disampaikan pada program KelasiUM terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu (1) Mahir 1, meliputi kegiatan orientasi perpustakaan dan tour library, (2) Mahir 2, meliputi penelusuran sumber informasi di internet dan e-resouces, (3) Mahir 3, meliputi penulisan karya ilmiah, pemanfaatan reference manager, dan pencegahan tindak plagiasi, dan (4) Mahir 4, berisi pembinaan literasi tingkat lanjut. Program KelasiUM mendapatkan penilaian layak digunakan dari para ahli dan praktisi di bidang perpustakaan. Dalam rangka keberlanjutan dan optimalisasi program KelasiUM diperlukan (1) monitoring dan evaluasi secara, dan (2) pengembangan materi KelasiUM sesuai kebutuhan pemustaka.
