Abstract

The outbreak of a deadly virus called Corona has prompted schools and colleges to switch instruction from face-to-face to online learning (Masha'al et al., 2020). Even with no records nor archives of online teaching-learning, imperative steps were implemented to counterbalance the educational institutions brought by the global outbreak (Joe et al., 2022).The researcher utilized a descriptive-quantitative design. A quantitative research design is used in this study to determine the level of stress and satisfaction of pre-service teachers in online learning. It was revealed that pre-service teachers are unsure if they are stressed in online learning before the covid 19 as they have no experienced online learning before the covid 19 outbreak but very stressful during the covid 19 pandemic. On the other hand, it was also revealed that the preservice teachers were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with the online learning set-up that they had experienced during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

The outbreak of a deadly virus called Corona has prompted schools and colleges to switch instruction from face-to-face to online learning (Masha'al et al., 2020). Even with no records nor archives of online teaching-learning, imperative steps were implemented to counterbalance the educational institutions brought by the global outbreak (Joe et al., 2022). Because of its versatility, young learners across the world mainly in more developed countries opted for an online learning (Handang, 2022). Normal classrooms have been replaced by e-classrooms quickly, implying that students and teachers have adjusted. According to Carey (2020) the challenges present are not how online teaching and learning methodologies can give excellent education rather on how schools can adjust to online learning in giving quality education. Digital learning reflects a vastly distinct educational setting where learners already can study from a variety of online materials in addition to those accessible in the classroom (Saldariega et al., 2022).

Abstract

Social values have become the guide of a person where it judges the action whether the action that has been taken is acceptable or not. This study will explore the attitude towards social values of the Pre-Service Teachers and determine if there is a significant difference in the attitude towards social values among the respondents when data are grouped according to gender. A total of 89 collected responses where 50 of them are female and 39 of them are male were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. Pre-Service Teachers’ attitude towards social values in terms of their gender, results has shown that both genders reflect a result of somehow positive attitude towards social values with an average mean of 3.9164 and 4.0296 respectively. Moreover, both genders also reflect a somehow positive attitude with an average mean of 3.98. Overall, it is also revealed that gender does not affect the attitude towards social values of Pre-Service Teachers,in this sense, values education must be given importance in moulding the social values of the Pre-Service Teacher regardless of their gender whether they are male or female for the improvement of one’s social character as it will be beneficial in the cultivation of a harmonious school culture.

Abstract

Learners with special needs have come a long way in their education. It can be in the style of a strategy from special education (SPED) to curriculum implementation, or it can be in the form of a transition from integrated education to inclusive classrooms. The transition from traditional learning to a new mode of learning happened due to the rise of the Covid pandemic in 2019 until the present. Students were forced not to enter school to avoid the spread of the virus. With that as an alternative solution for learning, the Department of Education (DepEd) implemented distance learning and modular learning for all the students all over the Philippines including the learners with disabilities. The current research study aimed to identify the extent of distance learning for children with a visual impairment from their teacher’s point of view. The researchers used a qualitative case study method and distributed questionnaires to the three chosen respondents. A purposive sampling method was adopted to select the respondents. The researchers selected the Special educators who have experience in handling students with visual impairment during distance learning. Each of the teachers underwent formal interviews through Google Meet and some were written answers which were later transcribed and analyzed by the researchers. After conducting the data analysis, it became evident that many of the teachers have their own unique perspectives when it comes to their experiences, challenges, and coping strategies for distance learning for their students. Recommendations are made to provide solutions aimed at reducing conflict in implementing distance learning among students with visual impairment.
