Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where the systolic blood pressure in a person's body is more than or equal to 140 mmHg and the distolic blood pressure is more than 90 mmHg (Ministry of Health 2019). The NTB Health Service (2020) reports that hypertension sufferers aged ≥ 15 years in NTB Province are estimated at 293,106. One of the non-pharmacological treatments for treating hypertension is hypertension exercise. Exercise also stimulates the release of endorphin hormones. The aim of this research is to see the effect of hypertension exercise on reducing blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension in the Banyumulek Community Health Center working area. This research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental one group pre test post test design method, the number of samples used in this research was 37 respondents, the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instruments used are measurement tools and SOPs for measuring blood pressure, as well as data analysis using the paired Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that yoga exercise had the effect of lowering blood pressure in the elderly in the Banyumulek health center working area, proven by sig value analysis. (2-tiled) is 0.000 because the sig value (2-tiled) 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (P<0.05). The conclusion of this research is that there is an effect of hypertension exercise on reducing blood pressure in the elderly in the Banyumulek Community Health Center working area.

Abstract

Background: Anemia among adolescent girls in Indonesia presents a concerning issue. The prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is 48%, in Central Lombok Regency it is 1,820 cases, and at SMAN 1 Praya Barat, 53 out of 419 female students were affected in 2024. To address the anemia cases, the Ministry of Health of West Nusa Tenggara has implemented a program providing iron supplements to adolescent girls. In line with this ministry program, this research is crucial as one of the solutions to reduce anemia cases. Objective: To determine the difference in the effectiveness of red guava juice and papaya juice in increasing hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Praya Barat. Method: This study is a quantitative research with a comparative experimental approach, using purposive sampling technique. The measurement tool used is a hemoglobinometer, and the experiment employs an independent t-test data analysis with a sample of 30 respondents. Results and Discussion: The research results show that red guava juice has an average increase of 2.38, while papaya juice has an increase of 1.35. Data analysis revealed that the mean hemoglobin level for red guava juice was 12.92, while the mean for papaya juice was 11.99. This indicates that red guava juice is more effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Praya Barat compared to papaya juice. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that red guava juice is more effective than papaya juice in increasing hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Praya Barat.

Abstract

Low Back Pain (LBP) is a prevalent musculoskeletal disorder and a significant public health concern in Indonesia. The prevalence LBP in Indonesia rangers from 7.6% to 37% total of population. Nonpharamacological management of LBP includes various therapeutic approaches, one of which is Core Stabillity Exercise. CSE isa commonly recognited rehabilitation modality for LBP, aimed at restoring the anatomical and biomechanical function of core muscles. This study to examine the effect of Core Stability Exercise Therapy on pain reduction in patient with Low Back Pain within the working area of Gerung Public Health Center of West Lombok. This present study employed an experimental reserch design that consisted of 88 individuals as population, from which 29 participants were selected as a sample using purposive sampling technique. Inclusion criteria included individuals experiencing mild to moderate LBP, aged 20-59 years, and willing to participate as respondents. The intervention consisted of a pre-test assessment, implementation of Core Stability Exercise therapy, and a post-test evaluation. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires and observational sheets. The results were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Prior to the intervention, among the 29 respondents, 26 individuals (90%) had experienced mild pain, while 3 individuals (10%) reported had suffered from moderate pain. Following the implementation of Core Stability Exercise therapy. Core Stability Exercise therapy, 20 respondents (69%) reported mild pain, while 9 respondents (31%) reported no pain. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant reduction in pain levels after the intervention. The current findings show that Core Stability Exercise therapy has a significant effect on reducing pain levels in Low Back Pain patients in the working area of Gerung Public Health Center. CSE serves as a safe and accessible alternative therapy that can be performed independently by LBP patients to alleviate lower back pain.
