Abstract

Introduction: the Penimbung Public Health Center is one of the health centers located in a malaria-endemic area in West Lombok Regency. Malaria remains a contagious disease that continues to pose a widespread public health issue. Secondary data from the Penimbung Health Center recorded 61 cases of malaria in 2022. The use of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) is considered an sffective method to prevent mosquito bites that transmit malaria. Research Objective: This study aims to investigate the correlation between the use of insecticide-treated bed nets and malaria infection transmission in the service area of the Penimbung Health Center. Research Method: This study employed a cross-sectional design. The study population included families of confirmed malaria patients who had been provided with insecticide-treated bed nets by the penimbung health center. A total of 24 participants were selected using accidental sampling. Data analysis was perform using the chi-square test with fisher’s alternative test. Results: The analysis revealed that 62.5% of the 24 respondents reported not using insecticide-treated bed nets, furthermore, malaria testing showed that 54.2% of the respondents were positive for malaria. A statistically significant association was found between the use of insecticide-treated bed nets and malaria incidence (p=0.000). Conclusion: Based on the results, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the use of insecticide-treated bed nets and the transmission of malaria infection (P=0.000).

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by the bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is currently still a public health problem both in Indonesia and internationally, making it one of the sustainable health development goals of the 17 points of Sustainable Development (SDGs). Tanjung Karang Health Center was appointed as a Referral Health Center because it already has a bale hanum house (sputum processing) Satellite Referrals, including those obtained from networks and several referrals from other satellite laboratories using the TCM (Molecular Rapid Test) method which actively plays a role in efforts to eliminate TB disease in accordance with the Government program stated in the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 67 of 2021 concerning TB Control The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sputum processing houses (Bale Hanum) and TB Case Discovery (CDR) in Mataram City. This research method is quantitative and the sampling technique uses accidental sampling, a total population of 100 samples. The results of the study There is a relationship between sputum processing houses (Bale Hanum) at the Tanjung Karang Health Center and the discovery of TB cases (CDR) in Mataram City. And from the two variables, it is interpreted that there is a significant relationship (meaningful) with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study There is a relationship between sputum processing houses (Bale Hanum) with the discovery of TB cases (CDR) in Mataram City
