Abstract

This research aims is to determine farming patterns or optimized combination of existing sub farming to maximize income, to calculated farming cost and income of existing farming pattern, and to know farmer’s problems in applying optimized farming pattern. There are two dominant farming patterns in research area, i.e: (i) big chilly - small chilly – cucumber; and (ii) egg plant - string bean - tomato. Based on linear programming approach, the optimum farming pattern for the first pattern is big chilly - small chilly; and the second one is egg plant - tomato. After being optimized, the income of first pattern increases from Rp 7,930,521 to Rp 1,858,689.20 (30.61% increase). The income of second pattern also increasea 5.49% compared before reallocation. Total cost for one farming process of the first and second pattern is Rp 5.458,376.70 and Rp 5,484,635.70, respectively. After optimization, total cost can be reduced Rp 1,198,587.34 and Rp 550,102 for the first and second pattern, respectively. Farmer’s problems in applying optimized farming pattern are capital and farm area limitation, and price fluctuation for both input and output.

Abstract

The study aims are: (1) knowing the efficiency of business of Badan Kredit Kecamatan (BKK), as well as the factors influence it; (2) to obtain the optimal picture of the income scale in each Badan Kredit Kecamatan; and (3) knowing the condition of Badan Kredit Kecamatan that measured by the liquidity ratio, solvency, and rentability, in the business district and the impact of the credit agencies on the technical efficiency. The primary data were collected from all (30) credit agencies in the 5 counties and secondary data collected from Bank Pendapatan Daerah. The technical efficiency was determained by the approach of deterministic production function frontier with the function of rayhomothetic whereas the financial analysis performed by the ratios. The results showed that all free variables were directly proportional and have real effect on the gross revenue of Badan Kredit Kecamatan. From the efficiency measuring, it was known that 93.33% of BKK have smaller efficiency index rather than the mean index of efficiency. About 76.67% of BKK were in a state of decreasing return to scale, which means that Badan Kredit Kecamatan in South of Kalimantan was not been efficient yet. That meant that the integration between input factor and technology used has not been reached the optimum, yet. The efficiency of Badan Kredit Kecamatan, significantly and positively, influenced by the state of liquidity and the number of business customer units that trained by the Badan Kredit Kecamatan, while solvability factors showed negative effect on the efficiency. With the condition of the BKK, it can be concluded that the BKK in South of Kalimantan is should to be increased.

Abstract

Kota Banjarbaru has agricultural potency to produce rice even though the sector is not the flagship sector. The capability to change from rice deficit in to rice surplus under limited land is very challenging. Therefore, the study describing current condition of rice surplus and deficit is important to give information and to support the agricultural policy making, especially rice production policy. Thus, the study is addressed to describe: (1) rice production; (2) rice consumption; (3) rice surplus and minus; (4) the production-consumption ratio; and (5) the factor influenced rice consumption in Kota Banjarbaru. Ordinary least square (OLSJ were used to estimate F-test, t-test, and determination coefficient (R). During 2002, Kota Banjarbaru needed additional 53.16% of total rice consumption to meet the local demand. The rice production and consumption rati o ranged between 0.24 and 0. 72. Based on regression model, harvested acreage and productivity affect rice production positively. On the consumption model, population gives positive impact on rice consumption. Interestingly, income per capita negatively affects rice consumption. Both factors affect the rice consumption significantly.

Abstract

Since the last decade, the increased onion demandforraw consumption and seed has not been fulfilled by local production . Thus, the import tents to increase year by year. On the other hand, Indonesia has large arable land which can be used for onion cultivation . Banjarbaru is second largest of onion producers in Kalimantan in 2014. The study calculates the costs and revenues of onion farming and their contribution to the total cost and total revenue of farmer household in Banjarbaru . The RCR (Revenue Cost Ratio) is calculated and the problems faced by farmers also identified. On average, the onion farming generates revenue ID 82.99 million per hectare, while the average total cost is IDR 56.68million per hectare. The cultiv ation is feasible as RCR value is 1.46. Problems faced by farmers are disease exposure (fusarium wilt) andchanging seasons during the planting period.

Abstract

The study is purposed: (1) to describe the SRG application carried out by the committee; (2) to identify the problems faced by SRG manager: (3) to excavate the obstacles encountered by farmers in using the SRG; and (4) to calculate cost and revenue margin of rice farming of the farmer as SRG user Descriptive analysis was used to answer the purpose. Several stages should be passed to issue the warehouse receipt which is time consuming and highly bureaucratic. As a result, only small rice farmers use the facility. Furthermore, the time to store the yield in the warehouse is not fit to the farmers need. Based on cost margin, the highest cost margin is spent by farmer from Desa Anjir Seberang Pasar I while Desa Tebing Rimbah, Berangas Timur, and Desa Lok Rawa are the lower. On contrary, the highest revenue margin are received by farmers from Desa Tebing Rimbah, Desa Berangas Timur, and Desa Lok Rawa; while farmers in Desa Anjir Serapat Pasar l received smaflest revenue margin.

Abstract

The small scale integrated farm business is a program introduced in South Kalimantan in order to increase the family income. One of program components is diversifying plant cultivation in the land, including the houseyard. The study intentions are: (1) to describe the cultivation pattern combination in study site; (2) to calculate cost and gross margin of each cultivated plant; and (3) to analyze the optimization of cultivation pattern in order to maximize the income. The study was conducted in UPT Cempaka, Kee. Cempaka, Banjarbaru. A linear programming model was constructed to seek the optimized cultivation pattern. The dominant farming pattem which gives optimum income at the study site is the combination of large chili (cabai besar) and string bean (kacang panjang); and the combination of com and eggplant. The first pattern generates /DR 2. 02 million and /DR 1. 55 million of total revenue and total gross margin, respectively. Meanwhile, the second pattern generates /DR 2.51 million and /DR 2.10 million of total revenue and total gross margin, correspondingly. Based on linear programming model, the first pattern gives the additional gross margin as much as /OR 161,293 and /OR 413,037 for the second one.
