Abstract

Brethren of Purity (Ikhwan al-Safa) is a group of philosophers in medieval Islamic history. They declared themselves as opponents of any chastity, impurity, or opacity. Their thoughts compiled in an encyclopedia containing of fifty two treaties (epistles), titled al-Rasa'il Ikhwan al-Safa wa Khullan al-Wafa. Al-Rasa'il extensively surveys a huge range of subjects ranging from music to magic. They are didactic in tone and highly eclectic in content, providing both pedagogical and culture mirror of their Age and its diverse philosophies and creeds. Therefore, al-Rasail is still debatable of its origin, one claims to the writing of Ali bin Abi Talib, the fourth Muslim Caliph (d. 40/661), or the writing of the sixth Shi'ite imam, Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq. The encyclopedia aspires to encompass all knowledge, from all sources, and to give meaning to the struggles of the human race. One of all amazing notions of the Brethren of Purity is a numerical symbolism as applied to explain qualitative correspondence of three principal beings: God as The Creator, universe, and human being.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan faktor pendukung sekaligus faktor penghambat dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Motivasi belajar merupakan satu hal yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model blended learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar melalui motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada pembelajaran tematik di kelas IV MI Darul Hikmah Bone dengan sampel yang terdiri dari 48 peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex-post facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, angket dan soal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi outer model, inner model serta bootstrapping dengan bantuan smartPLS versi 3.0. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan peneliti, menunjukkan nilai P value pengaruh tidak langsung X à Y1 à Y2 sebesar 0,002 dengan T statistik 3,079, nilai P value < 0,05, T statistic > 1,96 menunjukkan bahwa secara signifikan X dapat berpengaruh tidak langsung terhadap Y2 melalui Y1, dengan kata lain, motivasi belajar (Y1) dapat me-Mediasi pengaruh (blended learning (X) terhadap hasil belajar (Y2). Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model blended learning efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar melalui motivasi belajar siswa

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren or Islamic Boarding School has become a sub-culture of the Indonesian people, assimilated with the community. Islamic boarding school students and alumni have long participated in community activities. This article aims to explore the role of Miftahul Ula Islamic Boarding School in community development through education. This research was conducted using the ABCD approach. The results showed that the Miftahul Ula Islamic Boarding School could develop the community through education by building formal and non-formal institutions that were recognized by the government, so that the surrounding community could fulfill their needs, especially in the field of education.

Abstract

The theoretical construction about Alquran mufassir’s formal prerequirement almost always appears to give the absolute right for explaining God’s ‘kalam’ (ayah) to only the professional mufassir; although it should be learnt for all people especially Moslem. This is indeed an ironic since, in fact, in every period, there found one or more books/works which try to comprehend – if it cannot be called explaining – Alquran. In reality, the authors of those books did not have the so-called ‘legal certification’ to do it. M. Dawam Rahardjo, the courageous Economist, then appeared in the period when people weirdly look upon others who are lack of Arabic skills (exactly in Alquran). He tried to propose an alternative about Alquran interpretation (tafsir) which is different, or even deviate, from the theoretical construction and likely can be helpful for Moslem’s thoughts. Konstruk teoretik mengenai persyaratan formal seorang mufassir Alquran misalnya, hampir-hampir membawa kesan bahwa hanya mufassir ulung yang berhak dan dapat menjelaskan makna kalam suci Tuhan, sebuah ajaran yang sebenarnya diperuntukkan bagi manusia pada umumnya. Itu sebenarnya adalah ironi karena pada kenyataannya pada setiap penggalan zaman tetap saja muncul satu atau lebih karya yang mencoba memahami – kalau tidak dapat disebut sebagai menafsirkan – Alquran. Penulisnya, nyatanya, tidak menyandang ‘sertifikat halal’ untuk menafsirkan Alquran. M. Dawam Rahardjo, seorang ekonom yang pemberani, muncul dalam kubangan zaman yang masih memandang aneh terhadap seorang yang kurang menguasai Bahasa Arab-nya Alquran mencoba menawarkan satu alternative tafsir Alquran yang berbeda atau menyimpang dari konstruk teoretik dan – mungkin – terkesan membantu dalam pemikiran muslim.

Abstract

The rapid flow of industrialization in several sectors, including education, educational institutions, especially PTKI, must balance the education system with the times, which is expected to be able to give birth to creative and innovative students. This research is a field study that aims to reveal the concept of MBKM at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the Head of the Study Program, the Head of LPM, the Dean, and the Students. This article aims to analyze the concept of independent learning on an independent campus (MBKM) in more depth, tracing the industrial mindset at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The study results show that the industrialization of education is conspicuous in the MBKM policy implemented at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This is seen from the industrial factor, which is of great concern in educational design, meaning that national education only determines students to become skilled workers as the main objective, contrary to the objectives of national education in Bill 20 of 2003, which contains that the purpose of education is to form character and personality as a priority as teachings in Islam. The MBKM programs at UIN Sunan Kalijaga also emphasize that skilled workers must meet the demands of the business and industrial world as an integral part of alleviating unemployment. It is different from the teachings of Islam through the continuous messages of Muslim scholars that education aims to give birth to perfect humans.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality pattern of education in Pondok Modern with a quality trilogy approach, namely quality planning, quality control and quality improvement. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative phenomenological type using the Joseph M. Juran approach. This study uses interviews, observation, and documentation to collect data. In addition, this study also uses inductive modification data analysis techniques that refer to theories and concepts that emerge from the data collected. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding schools can maintain their existence by; 1) updating Islamic boarding schools education by including general and vocational subjects; 2) updating the methodology, such as the classical system and ranking; 3) institutional reform, such as pesantren leadership, diversification of educational institutions; and 3), renewal of functions, from initially only an educational function, developed so that it also includes the function of da'wah and community development in various fields. The implication of this research is to contribute to developing an educational model in Islamic boarding schools with a holistic and integrative approach that combines three essential aspects: curriculum, human resources, and relations with the community.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the approach of the Tahfidzul Qur'an Islamic boarding school in handling the mental health disorders of students. The method used is a qualitative case study type. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique consists of three lines of activity: data reduction, data presentation, and concludingand . The research results show that the process of memorizing the Al-Qur'an requires high concentration and optimal mental endurance so that students can carry out routine activities of memorizing the Al-Qur'an; they also must study in formal education. To support this, physical and spiritual endurance is needed to avoid mental health disorders. The impact of this physical and spiritual imbalance is felt in adaptation and concentration, and it not only affects individual health but also plays a vital role in preparing students to read and memorize the Koran well. The way to prevent this is to use an approach to establishing discipline and Islamic mystical therapy. Islamic boarding school caregivers provide practice to students who experience mental disorders in the form of stress, weak memorization ability, and depression through a spiritual approach.
