Abstract

This study explores the transformation of Arabic language teaching through online digitalization for non-Arab learners at the MaliQa Arabic Language Academy. The main objective is to examine the impact of digital technology on learners' motivation, learning outcomes, and the challenges faced during the online learning process. The research employs a qualitative approach using phenomenological methods, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the use of digital platforms such as Google Meet and learning media like PowerPoint enhances student motivation by offering time flexibility, interactive features, and engaging visual presentations. However, technical barriers such as network instability and limited access to devices, as well as challenges related to digital literacy, were also identified as obstacles to effective learning. The study concludes that while digitalization offers significant advantages in improving the quality of Arabic language instruction, adequate infrastructure support and digital literacy training are essential to optimize the effectiveness of online learning.

Abstract

This community service project aims to foster early childhood interest and love for the Arabic language through play and song-based learning in Islamic early childhood education. The program was conducted with teachers and children at TKM Al-Asy’ari Sidoarjo, emphasizing joyful, interactive, and spiritually enriched learning experiences. The methods involved teacher mentoring, demonstration of Arabic songs, and implementation of play-based activities integrating basic Arabic vocabulary. Observation and interviews were used to evaluate children’s engagement, linguistic responses, and enthusiasm. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s motivation, memory of Arabic words, and participation during learning sessions. Teachers also reported increased confidence in applying creative Arabic teaching strategies. This study highlights the importance of integrating emotional, cultural, and spiritual elements in Arabic learning from an early age to build positive language attitudes and lay the foundation for future proficiency.

Abstract

  Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk kolaborasi antara mahasiswa dan masyarakat dalam mewujudkan lingkungan bersih dan sehat yang berkelanjutan di sekitar Universitas Sunan Giri Surabaya. Kolaborasi ini dipandang sebagai upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan, memperkuat hubungan sosial, serta menumbuhkan rasa tanggung jawab bersama dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yaitu metode yang menempatkan masyarakat sebagai subjek aktif dalam setiap tahap kegiatan, mulai dari mengidentifikasi permasalahan lingkungan, merancang program kerja, melakukan aksi lapangan, hingga mengevaluasi hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan. Beragam aktivitas dilaksanakan, seperti kerja bakti pembersihan area kampus, pemilahan sampah, pencabutan rumput liar, penyapuan jalan, serta edukasi mengenai pengelolaan sampah yang benar dan pentingnya perilaku hidup bersih di lingkungan dan sekitarnya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi ini menghasilkan perubahan nyata, baik secara fisik maupun sosial. Lingkungan menjadi lebih bersih, rapi, dan bebas dari penumpukan sampah, sementara masyarakat menunjukkan peningkatan tingkat partisipasi dan kesadaran ekologis. Selain itu, hubungan sosial antara mahasiswa dan masyarakat semakin kuat melalui terciptanya budaya gotong royong yang berkelanjutan. Namun demikian, kegiatan ini juga menghadapi kendala seperti keterbatasan fasilitas kebersihan, faktor cuaca, dan kurangnya kesadaran sebagian warga. Secara keseluruhan, kolaborasi ini terbukti efektif sebagai model pemberdayaan untuk mewujudkan lingkungan bersih dan sehat.
